Olivia C. Bowersox

MIFFLINTOWN – Olivia C. Bowersox, 85, formerly of Rockville, passed away on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.

Born Dec. 24, 1927, in Mifflintown, she was a daughter of the late Simon and Laura (Wise) Varner. Her husband, Roy F. Bowersox Sr., died on Sept. 10, 2005.

She is survived by: one son, Roy “Skip” Bowersox Jr. and wife, Rose, of Lewistown; three daughters, Libby L. Trego, of Port Royal, Deloris Bowersox, of Lewistown, and Keitha Bowersox and companion, Kevin Burkholder, of Honey Grove; one sister, Delores Webster, of Osceola Mills; 13 grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: one son, Stephen D. Bowersox; one daughter, Joy A. Eby; four brothers; and three sisters.

She was employed at Milliken’s Restaurant, Bratton’s Restaurant and Juniata Garment. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting and crocheting.

Her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Guss Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. Franklin E. Trego officiating. Interment will be held in Union Cemetery, Mifflintown.

A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
