Luella Stuck Fogle

McALISTERVILLE – Luella (Snyder) Stuck Fogle, 92, of McAlisterville, formerly of Richfield, peacefully fell asleep in the arms of Jesus on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at the Evangelical Community Hospital.

Luella was born on Oct. 21, 1920, in Monroe Township, Juniata County, a daughter of the late Thomas and Florence (Ferster) Snyder.

On Jan. 5, 1952, she married Harry N. Stuck, who preceded her on Jan. 25, 1956. On Oct. 20, 1972, she married Adam J. “Boop” Fogle, who preceded her on March 8, 2006.

Luella is survived by: her daughter, Beverly Stuck Troutman and her husband, Donald “Chop,” of McAlisterville; three stepdaughters, Susan “Sue” (Fogle) Houtz and her husband, Marvin, of Middleburg, Linda (Stuck) Shaffer and her husband, Norman “Butch,” of Richfield, and Shirley (Stuck) Willow and her husband, Palmer “Pete,” of Richfield; a stepson Jim Fogle and his wife, Jean, of McAlisterville; six grandchildren, Bradley Willow, Kimberly Swartz and her husband, Randy, Adrian Fogle and his wife, Karen, Jeremy Houtz and his wife, Ashley, Allison Troutman-Miron and her husband, Nick, and Alexis Troutman; two brothers-and sisters-in-law, Paul and Gale Snyder and Wade and Eleanor Snyder, all of Richfield; a sister-in-law, Arlene Snyder, of Selinsgrove; 10 great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Luella was preceded by: a grandson, Kim Willow; two sisters, Charlotte Hilbish and Doris Leitzel; and a brother, Richard Snyder.

She attended Crossroads Grammar Schoolhouse. She was a member of the Richfield United Church of Christ since 1935, and was former president, secretary, and treasurer of the Women’s Guild.

She was also a former member of the Richfield Women’s Club. Luella was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting, and she designed two of the quilts for Richfield Dutch Days. Luella cherished her church family, friends, and her family, especially her grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013 and again at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, until the time of the Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m., all at the Richfield UCC, 44 Church Street, Richfield.

Officiating will be Pastor Tammy Gessner and assisting will be the Rev. J. Arthur Mott and Pastor Steve Osenga. Burial will be made in the Richfield Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in loving memory of Luella to her church, Richfield UCC PO Box 17, Richfield, PA 17086. The George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 state Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, have been entrusted with the arrangements.
