Henry J. Anastasi

BELLEVILLE – Henry J. Anastasi “Hank,” 75, of 118 Greenwood Road, Belleville, died at 10:35 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center.

Born Jan. 14, 1937, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Joseph S. and Sarah Hilda (Miller) Anastasi.

He is survived by: children, Denise Foss and husband, Howard, of Lewistown, Joseph M. Anastasi and companion, Molly Schlegel, and son, Cole, of Lewistown, Vincent H. Anastasi and wife, Darla, of Intercourse, and Melissa J. Anastasi-Plank and husband, Tim, of Reedsville; sister, Jane Fultz and husband, Lawrence “Bud” of Belleville; granddaughters, Heather Powell, Courtney Anastasi-Foss, Brianna Anastasi, Sierra Anastasi, and Montana Plank; and great-granddaughter, Jocelyn Powell.

He attended Menno-Union High School and served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a truck driver, construction worker and heavy equipment operator. Most recently, he was the owner/operator of Valley Commercial Cleaning.

Henry enjoyed hunting with his sons, spending time in the mountains at his camp, Whispering Pines, being in the outdoors, cooking and eating, and spending time at his cottage at the river. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved country music, and was a great dancer. He enjoyed boating, spending time with his friends, square dancing and pig roasts. Henry was a dog lover and enjoyed a good honest day of hard work.

He was a member of VFW Post 5935, in Belleville, St. John’s Lutheran Church, City Firehouse, in Lewistown, and the American Legion, in Milroy.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Kampa officiating.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
