Donald J. Heisey
MIFFLINTOWN – Donald J. Heisey, 56, of Mifflintown, and formerly of Richfield, died on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at his home.
Born on Nov. 8, 1956, in Pottstown, Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Aaron F. and Eva Mae (Brubaker) Heisey. His former wife of 32 years, Cindy K. (McDonald) Heisey, of Richfield, survives.
He is also survived by: his children, Jeremy Dale Heisey, of Seattle, Wash., Brian Heisey, currently serving in Afghanistan, Amanda Gault and her husband, Anthony, of Middletown, Hannah Heisey, of Philadelphia, and Kattie Heisey, of Harrisburg; and siblings, Guy Heisey and his wife, Marianne, of Lewistown, Thelma Bonchack and her husband, Joseph, of Bellefonte, Sandy Bartel, of Michigan, Darnese Simmons, of Lemoyne, and Robert Jones, of Ohio.
One brother, Dennis Williams, preceded him in death.
Mr. Heisey was employed by several area orchards, and later for H.P. McGinley Inc., McAlisterville.
Donald was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as coaching Little Tiger youth football. Collecting knives and swords was one of his favorite past times.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with the Rev. Nicholas Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Brick Church Cemetery, Richfield.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday, January 4, 2013, at the funeral home.
