Charles ‘Dave’ Fleisher

McALISTERVILLE – Charles “Dave” Fleisher, 82, of North Ridge, McAlisterville, formerly of Thompsontown, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Lewistown Hospital.

Born April 18, 1930, in Perry County, he was a son of Charles M. and Evelyn (Flickinger) Fleisher.

Dave retired from PennDOT as an equipment operator in 1992. He was an active member of the Millerstown Moose Family Center, holding the Pilgrim Degree and serving as governor and many other positions in the fraternity. Being a member of the Moose was his passion.

Dave is survived by: his son, Charles G. Fleisher and his wife, Linda, of Millerstown; daughter, Debra Laub and her husband, Dean, of Mifflintown; stepson, Carl Casner and his wife, Ruth, of Elliottsburg; stepdaughter, Sandy Fawver and her husband, Tom, of Mount Pleasant Mills; brother, Fred Fleisher and his wife, Elva, of Clearfield; sister, Mildred Cramer, of Shermans Dale; nine grandchildren; 21

great-grandchildren; and

one great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by: his companion, Shirley Martin, in May 2012; his wife, Janet Fleisher, in September 1989; sisters, Bertha Jane Hilbish and Josephine Sledzinski; brother, Clarence Fleisher; and great-great-grandson, Dedan Swartz.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at David Myers Funeral Home, Newport. Burial will follow in Wrights Cemetery.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., with Moose services at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
