Ministerium to host gospel concert

MOUNT UNION — Pastor Adam Shawver and the Mount Union Ministerium, will host a gospel concert at the Solid Rock Fitness Center, North Jefferson St., Mount Union at 6 p.m. June 1. Special music is provided by local artists Trena Figard, Paul Zook, Eric Armstrong, Bobbi Marshall, Jerry Hammons, among others. Free will offering accepted. Ice cream and refreshments available.

Needham’s to sing during service

McALISTERVILLE — The Needham’s will sing at 6 p.m. June 2 at Stony Run Mission, 2825 Evendale Hill Road, McAlisterville.

St. Paul’s to host Gospel concert

MIDDLEBURG — St. Paul’s (Erdley’s) Lutheran Church, 2337 Erdley’s Church Road, will host an outdoor gospel concert on June 2. The Wehry Family will perform at 2 p.m. and Mended Heart will perform at 4 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The event will be held outside in the picnic grove. Bring a lawn chair. Grace UMC to host community band

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Community Band will perform at Grace United Methodist Church, 101 Logan St. Lewistown. The concert is held outdoors Attendees should bring lawn chairs. Cake and ice cream will be served after the performance. If it rains, the concert will be moved indoors.

Association to host spaghetti dinner

ALFARATA — The Alfarata Cemetery Association will hold its annual spaghetti dinner to raise funds for the cemetery 4 to 7 p.m. June 8 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, at the crossroads in Alfarata, approximately seven miles from Lewistown on US Highway 522 North. There will be all-you-can-eat spaghetti, salad, rolls, drinks and cake available by donation. Takeout available for an extra donation. Information: facebook.com/StMarkAlfarata.

Tabernacle Church hosts Gospel Jubilee

MOUNT UNION — Tabernacle Church of God in Christ will host Gospel Jubilee 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on June 8. The church is located at 202 W. Walnut St., Mount Union. Food will be sold at the event. Attendees are asked to bring a lawn chair.

Shavuoth observed June 8 to 10

Shavuoth, the Festival of Weeks, is the second of three major festivals with agriculture and historical significance. Shavuoth will be observed June 8 to 10. although no services will be held in Lewistown, Yiskor will be recited on June 10 for those attending services elsewhere.

Special speaker to share at Children’s Day

McALISTERVILLE — Matt Werner will share during a Children’s Day service at 10:15 a.m. June 9 at Stony Run Mission Church, 2825 Evendale Hill Road, McAlisterville.

Reedsville UMC to host movie night

REEDSVILLE –Reedsville United Methodist Church will hold a free movie night at 6:30 p.m. June 9. Refreshments will be served. The film will be “Same Kind of Different as Me.” All are welcome.

Missionaries to speak at Strodes Mills

LEWISTOWN — Dan and Elizabeth Ransom, missionaries to Perugia, Italy, will speak at the Strodes Mills Baptist Church of Lewistown at 10:30 a.m. June 9.

Presbyterian Church hosts camps

REEDSVILLE — East Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church of Reedsville will hold summer day camps in the church’s basement free of charge. They include lunch and a snack.

Camps are as follows:

¯Computer programming –1-6 p.m. June 10 to 14. Participants should have completed fourth grade.

¯Art camp– 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 17 to 21. There will be two sessions for different age groups. Camp is for children who have completed kindergarten and older.

¯Science camp — 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 8 to 12. There will be two sessions for different age groups. Engage in experiments and observe reactions. This camp is for children who have completed kindergarten and older.

¯Noah camp — 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 15 to 19. Learn about water, building an ark and other fun activities. Open for children who have completed kindergarten and older.

¯Cooking camp — 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 22 to 26. Learn to make international desserts. Samples will be sent home. Open to children who have completed kindergarten and older.

¯Sewing camp — 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 29 to Aug. 2. Campers make projects, including reading pillows, bags and cell phone pillows. Participants must have completed fourth grade.

Father’s Day service

McALISTERVILLE — Pastor Jacob Tanner will be sharing in a Father’s Day service at 9:15 a.m. June 16 at Stony Run Mission Church, 2825 Evendale Hill Road, McAlisterville.

Re-Creation to

perform in Reedsville

REEDSVILLE — Re-Creation, a group of dynamic young people who present both religious and family-oriented music, will perform at 7 p.m. June 23 at Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 East Logan St., Reedsville.

Church to celebrate 150th anniversary

ALLENSVILLE — Allensville Mennonite Church will celebrate its 150th anniversary on June 29 and 30. The weekend will begin with a meal at 6 p.m. followed by a service including special music and sharing of memories. On Sunday, the celebration continues at 9:15 a.m. with Sunday School and the morning service at 10:30 a.m., followed by a meal at noon. An afternoon session held 1 to 2:15 p.m. will focus on highlights of the church missions involvement in recent years, including stories of God at work in Spain and Belarus. Horse-drawn carriage rides are planned for roads surrounding the church from 4-5:30 p.m. There will be a light meal at 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Activities conclude with an evening service at 7 p.m., focusing on the church’s more recent history.

McALISTERVILLE — Stony Run Mission Church will holds its June 30 service at Evendale Ball Field at 6 p.m. with Nottingham Four singing. It it rains, the service will be held at the church.

Windy Hill Bible

hosts hymn sing

BURNHAM — Windy Hill Bible Church will host its monthly hymn sing 6 to 7 p.m. on June 30 with fellowship and snacks to follow.
