Cookie sale funds improvements

REEDSVILLE — Reedsville United Methodist Church, 60 E. Logan St., will sell cookies to raise money for church improvements. The sale will be held at noon May 4. Cookies will be sold at $10 per dozen with a two dozen limit. Cookies are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No preorders.

Prayer breakfasts held in Lewistown

Gospel concert held at Solid Rock Fitness

MOUNT UNION — Pastor Adam Shawver of the Walnut Grove Church of God and the Solid Rock Fitness Center will be having a community Christian/

gospel concert at 6 p.m. May 4. Special music will be provided by local artists Trena Figard, Paul Zook, Erica Wilson and Eric Armstrong. The concert will be held at the Solid Rock Fitness Center on North Jefferson Street. A free will offering will be accepted.

First Baptist to host Bible Conference

MIFFLINTOWN — First Baptist Church of Juniata County, Route 35, Mifflintown, will host a Bible Conference on May 5 with the Rev. Glen Bayly serving as featured speaker.

¯8 and 10:30 a.m. — “Living for Christ in a Secular Culture”

¯9:15 a.m. — Combined Adult S.S.: “Crash Course in Personal Evangelism”

¯7 p.m. — “Christian History in Central Pennsylvania.”

Bayly is a retired minister with the Christian Missionary Alliance. He served as the pastor for 38 years. He was the campus pastor for the Alliance Christian Fellowship at Penn State. He hosts a weekly Christian interview program, ‘The Lions’ Den University Report,” which is heard on stations from Philadelphia to Seattle. Information: (717) 436-9261.

Blessing of the

Tractors held May 5

CENTRE HALL — A Blessing of the Tractors will be held 9 a.m. May 9 at Emmanuel Union United Church of Christ, 120 Tusseyville Road, Centre Hall. Attendees can bring their small tractors, lawn mowers and tillers — all equipment used to grow food and gardens –to give thanks to God for His bounty and guidance in bringing in the crop. BMS to host annual banquet

BELLEVILLE — Belleville Mennonite School will host Gospel Echoes Annual Banquet at 6:30 p.m. May 7. The public is invited to join for music and a homestyle dinner. Music will be provided by Gospel Echoes Harvest and Mercy Road Teams.

The guest speaker will be Bruce Hood, of Fresno, Calif. The evening includes prison testimonies and an update on the ministry.

MILROY — A Mother’s and Father’s day tea and luncheon will be held 11 a.m.-1 p.m. May 11 at Milroy United Methodist Church, 91 S. Main St., Milroy.
