Bunkertown Church to hold fundraiser

McALISTERVILLE — Bunkertown Church of the Brethren will hold a Haiti Fundraiser breakfast and bake sale 7 to 10 a.m. Jan. 12. A donation of $8 per person is suggested. The church is located at 52 Bunkertown Road, McAlisterville.

Concert held at Ellen Chapel

LEWISTOWN — A free concert will be held in a coffee house setting at Ellen Chapel Church in Ferguson Valley at 7 p.m. Jan. 12. Flipside (Grace Fala and Rhonda Swigart) will provide guitar and vocal selections. Richard Sleigh will entertain with a variety of vocal, harmonica and guitar music at 8:15 p.m.

Snacks, coffee, and iced tea will be provided. There is no charge to attend but donations will be accepted.

Stony Run hosts Garmets of Praise

McALISTERVILLE — Garmets of Praise will be singing at Stony Run Mission Church, 2825 Evendale Hill Road, at 10:15 a.m. Jan. 13.

Reedsville UMC to host movie night

REEDSVILE — Reedsville United Methodist Church, 60 E. Logan Street, will host a free movie night at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 13. All are invited and refreshments will be served.

The movie showing will be “The Note,” A warm and touching story of hope and forgiveness based on a novel by best-selling Christian author Angela Hunt.

When a plane crashes, newspaper columnist Peyton MacGruder discovers a Note that was meant for the child of one of the passengers. She sets on a quest to find the person the note was intended for. As she searches to heal the heart of a stranger, she discovers the life that’s changed most profoundly is her own.

Lewistown March for Life slated Jan. 20

LEWISTOWN — The Mifflin/Juniata Citizens Concerned for Human Life will host the annual March for Life at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20. All are invited to walk from Sacred Heart Church, 3rd and Dorcas streets to Bethel AME Fellowship Hall, 23 N. Juniata Street. Speakers, music and prayer will be offered by local pastors with light refreshments to follow at 2:30 p.m. Those unable to walk may meet at the Fellowship Hall for the program. Fellowship follows hymn sing

BURNHAM — Windy Hill Bible Church will be having a Hymn Sing 6-7 p.m. Jan. 27 with fellowship and snacks to follow.

Sweetheart banquet slated Feb. 2

MOUNT PLEASANT MILLS — A sweetheart banquet being sponsored by the Evendale Bible Church will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Fremont Fire Hall in Mt. Pleasant Mills. The evening includes a family-style turkey dinner, special music, games and a message by Dave Jones, morning host on WGRC. Cost is $25 per couple. Church Hill UMC

REEDSVILLE — Church Hill United Methodist Church, 199 Woodland Circle, Reedsville, will host a mosaic art class 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 9.

Artist Julie Snyder will be teach attendees to make photo frames with glass and tesserae. The cost is $25 per person. Call (717) 667-3778 to register and leave a message. Money is due at the time of the class.

McALISTERVILLE — Revival services with Mike Moore will be held Feb. 24-27. Services will be held at 9:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Correspondence course offered

LEWISTOWN — World Bible School correspondence courses will be offered through Lewistown Church of Christ. Anyone interested may email, or write 301 South Pine St., Lewistown.
