Ladies day features crafts, devotion

PAINTERSVILLE — Paintersville Christian and Missionary Alliance is holding its seasonal Ladies Crafting Day 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday. The event is free. Any craft that can safely be done indoors on a three to four-foot table is welcome. Bring extension cord. There will also be snacks, devotion and a free lunch.

McCoysville church plans Christmas tea

MIFFLIN — McCoysville Presbyterian Church will hold its annual Christmas Tea at 1 p.m. Saturday. The event will feature Tara Hartley, who will speak on “Tis the Season.”

The talk will discuss the change of weather and changes through seasons of life. Information: www.nekodaunlimited.org.

The Women of the Church will serve tea and dessert. The event is free and open to the public.

Gospel quartet to

perform Dec. 2

PORT ROYAL — Port Royal Presbyterian Church, 4th and Main streets, will host a performance by Chapter VII Gospel Quartet at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Information: www.chaperviigospel.com.

Alternative gift fair slated Dec. 2

REEDSVILLE — East Kish Presbyterian Church, corner of Walnut and Church streets, Reedsville, will host the 10th annual Alternative Gift Fair 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., Sunday. Lunch will be available beginning at noon. Free craft and treats available for the kids and the opportunity to touch a fire truck. Attendees will have the opportunity to donate to 16 organizations.

Christmas music hymn sing held

MOUNT UNION — The Assembly of God Church, 611 N. Jefferson St., Mount Union, will hold a Christmas music hymn sing 6-8 p.m., Sunday. A variety of local guest singers and musicians from the surrounding area will include Paul Zook, Trena Figard, Eric Armstrong, Erica Wilson, Lina Shope, Jim Treaster, Andy and Diane Noel, Jerry Hammon, Pastor Steve Sinclair and Charlene Myers. The public is invited. There is no charge, but a free will offering will be accepted.

Advent breakfast slated Dec. 2

LEWISTOWN — Yeagertown United Methodist Church and Rhodes Memorial Church will have a joint service on Sunday. It will begin with breakfast at 9 a.m. in the Rhodes Memorial Highland Avenue social hall and will be followed by a regular service. Use back entrance for easier access to the social hall.

Christmas program follows potluck dinner

SIGLEVILLE — St. Mark’s United Methodist, Havice Valley will hold special services on Dec. 2. Sunday school will be held at 9:30 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. worship service. At 3 p.m., Penn’s Valley men’s choir will perform, followed by a potluck meal. A children’s Christmas program with hanging of the green’s will be at 6 p.m.

Youth group provides Christmas music

Christmas tea held in Port Royal

PORT ROYAL — The annual Port Royal Christmas Tea will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 13 in the social room of the Port Royal Lutheran Church. Special Christmas music will be provided by The Boyz who will also lead a Christmas Carol Sing-a-long. All are invited.

THOMPSONTOWN — The Thompsontown United Methodist Church combined church choir will present their Christmas Cantata, “Good News from Home” at 7 p.m. Dec. 16. All are welcome.

First Baptist to offer Christmas programs

MIFFLINTOWN — First Baptist Church, 23964 Route 35 N., Mifflintown, will host the following Christmas services on Dec. 23.

At 9:30 a.m., a Christmas Cantata: The First Noel will be performed under the direction of Jennifer Fornwalt and Rebecca Brubaker. Sunday school will be held at 8:30 a.m. that day. There will be no 8 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. service.

At 7 p.m. a children’s program, the Christmas Dream Team Parade, under the direction of Betty Huffman and Kelly Beward will be held. There will be refreshments after the program in the Family Ministry Center.

THOMPSONTOWN — A special Christmas service will be held at 10:15 a.m., Dec. 23 at Thompsontown Baptist Church, 269 Birch Dr., Thompsontown. A children’s Christmas program will be held at 7 p.m.. A Christmas Eve service will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 24.

PORT ROYAL — A Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 24 at Port Royal United Methodist Church.

Christmas Eve service held in Milroy

MILROY — A Christmas Eve service will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 24 at Milroy United Methodist Church, 91 S. Main St., Milroy. All are invited.

Live nativity during Christmas service

REEDSVILLE — A live nativity will be featured at 6:15 p.m. Dec. 24 at Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church. A Christmas Eve service will follow at 7 p.m.

Candlelight Christmas Eve service held

MIFFLINTOWN — First Baptist Church, Mifflintown, will hold its annual Christmas Eve Candlelight service at 6 p.m. Dec. 24. There will be various musical selections and vocals along with the singing of the traditional Christmas songs and a Devotional. First Baptist Church is located on Route 35, one mile North of Mifflintown.

Reedsville UMC hosts Christmas services

REEDSVILLE — Reedsville United Methodist Church, 60 E. Logan St., Reedsville, will hold its Christmas Eve service at 11 p.m. The church will hosts its Christmas dinner, which will include turkey dinner with all the fixings at noon Dec. 25.

Birthday party for Jesus planned

McVEYTOWN — Music, crafts, games and food will be available during a birthday party for Jesus from noon to 3 p.m., Dec. 8 at Spring Run Church of the Brethren, 6712 Ferguson Valley Road. The event is open to ages 3-12. Those interested in attending should RSVP by calling the parsonage at (717) 899-7164 or emailing springruncob@verizon.net.
