First Baptist to welcome new full-time assistant pastor

MIFFLINTOWN — A new full-time assistant pastor was called to serve at First Baptist Church of Juniata County in Mifflintown.

Pastor Caleb Hanna is a recent graduate of Clarks Summit University where he majored in pastoral ministries He will begin ministry in January.

Hanna will work alongside his wife, Jenna, who will serve in the teen youth group ministry, the AWANA children’s ministry and with the Exodous worship team and many other ministries. Jenna is also a graduate of Clarks Summit University.

The couple will visit First Baptist Church Sunday, Oct. 14. They will visit occasionally until Hanna begins ministry full time.

According to a news release, Hanna is the son of a pastor, having lived in Illinois, Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania.

He has vast ministry experience in leading worship at Sunday School AWANA, youth groups, preaching and evangelism.

In college, Hanna was involved in his college ministry at Eaton Baptist Church, Grace Baptist Church, was a teen leadership counselor and a counselor at Lamoka Lake Baptist Camp.

The couple enjoys working with teenagers and children as well as serving musically and glorifying God by playing guitar, piano and singing with the worship team.

Caleb also likes to play sports, including running cross country and competing in marathons. Jenna enjoys painting, playing violin and working with children and helping them to grow in all areas of their lives.

First Baptist Church looks forward to ministry with the Hannas. They will assist Pastor Ron Shupe who has been the senior pastor for 27 years.

First Baptist Church, Mifflintown, is located on Route 35 North. Worship services are 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday mornings.
