Revival tent meeting held Saturday

LEWISTOWN — Revival Tent meetings featuring Remington Ryde will be at 5:30 p.m., Sept. 8 at Paintersville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 3195 Back Maitland Road. There will be a pig roast.

Food will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis with a 7 p.m. service to follow. Children’s ministry each night includes nursery through third grade. A love offering will be accepted. Bring a lawn. Information: (717) 543-5249.

Free concert held at Ellen Chapel

LEWISTOWN — A free concert will begin at 7 p.m., Sept. 8 at Ellen Chapel Church, Ferguson Valley Road. The Tim and Duane Show will provide entertainment at 7 p.m. Potlicker Flats, with Doug Romig and friends will present bluegrass/country music at 8:15 a.m.

The concert will be informal coffee house style, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or iced tea while you enjoy the music of the entertainers.

The community is invited to attend this concert as well as future concerts planned for the second Saturday of each month. The types of music will include bluegrass, country, gospel and others. There is no charge however donations will be accepted.

Biblical storytelling program at Kish Park

LEWISTOWN — Bob Booz, of Centre County, will present his Biblical storytelling program on Sept. 9. Join the Rhodes Memorial and Yeagertown United Methodist churches at the green pavilion at Kish Derry Park. Coffee hour will begin at 10 a.m. and the service starts at 11 a.m. and is followed by a meal.

Free movie night at Reedsville UMC

REEDSVILLE — “God’s not Dead: A Light in Darkness” will be shown at 6:30 p.m., Sept. 9 at Reedsville United Methodist Church, 60 E. Logan St., Reedsville. The movie will be free to the public. Refreshments will be served and all are welcome.

Gospel concert held at St. Paul’s Lutheran

MIDDLEBURG — St. Paul’s (Erdley’s) Lutheran Church, 2337 Erdley Church Road, Middleburg, will hold an outdoor gospel concert in the picnic grove on Sept. 9. Saving Grace will perform at 2 p.m. and Eastern Gate will perform at 4 p.m. Bring a lawn chair. Refreshments will be served. If it rains, the event will be held inside. Information: (570) 374-5535.

Stony Run Mission to feature speaker

McALISTERVILLE — Josh Haines will share during a 10:15 a.m. service on Sept. 9 at Stony Run Mission Church, McAlisterville.

Hartsock to speak during service

BEAVER SPRINGS — Singer and evangelist David Hartsock will speak during morning and evening services at Three Rivers Church in Beaver Springs on Sept. 9. Services are held at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Carnival games kick off Awana meetings

MILROY — Milroy Christian and Missionary Alliance, Elm Street, will begin its Awana Club with a meeting 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 12. The club will meet every Wednesday through the end of April. The kickoff event, on Sept. 12, will have carnival games and refreshments. The meetings are open to ages 3 to sixth grade.

Creation vs evolution discussion held

STATE COLLEGE — A panel of four board members will hold a panel presentation on the subject of creation versus evolution. The presentation will be held at 7 p.m., Sept. 13 at the First Baptist Church, 647 Valley Vista Dr., State College. Information: centralpacreationfellowship.org.

Service of Intercession planned in Lewistown

LEWISTOWN — The annual Service of Intercession will be held at Ohev Shalom Cemetery at 2 p.m. Sept. 16. Yizkor will be recited during the morning service for Yom Kippur on Sept. 19 and the morning service of Shemini Atzeret on Oct. 1.

Family movie night at Mifflintown church

MIFFLINTOWN — First Baptist Church, Route 35, one mile north of Mifflintown, will host a free family meal and movie night at 5 p.m., Sept. 16, in the Family Ministry Center. The meal begins at 5 p.m. and includes a hot dog or grilled cheese sandwich, vegetable pasta salad and ice cream. The movie, “God’s not dead: A light in darkness,” will follow the meal. Dress casual and bring a lawn chair. Everyone is welcome.

Children’s ministry choir to perform

BURNHAM — Watoto Children’s Choir will perform their new album, “We Will Go” at 6:30 p.m., Sept. 21, at New Life Church, Burnham. Watoto Children’s Choir shares a message of hope for Africa’s most vulnerable children and women.

McALISTERVILLE — Down East Boys will perform at 7 p.m., Sept. 21, at Stony Run Mission, McAlisterville. A free will offering will be accepted.

BANNERVILLE — Jeremy Goodling will perform at the Bannerville Christian Missionary Alliance at 10:30 a.m., Sept. 23. All are welcome.

Hartsock to speak during service

LEWISTOWN — Singer and evangelist David Hartsock will speak during Way Truth and Life Church’s 10 a.m. service on Sept. 23. Services are held in the basement of the Mifflin County Library.

Hymn sing planned at Windy Hill Church

BURNHAM — Windy Hill Bible Church, 22 Windmill Hill, will host a hymn sing 6-8 p.m., Sept. 30. Fellowship will follow.

Youth to hold concert at Lewistown Alliance

LEWISTOWN — Area youth will perform at the Lewistown Alliance Church on Juniata Terrace at 6 p.m., Sept. 30. Performances include: Kelsey Bishop, John Haubrick, Lydia Hidlay, Abi Liebegott, Kenzie McCarter, and Anna Rowles. A love offering will be taken to benefit the Alliance Youth Group’s LIFE Conference to be held in July 2019.

Tractor service held at Basom Memorial Park

RICHFIELD — Stony Run Mission’s 8th Annual Tractor Service will be held 10 a.m., Sept. 23, at Basom Memorial Park in Richfield. Chosen Road will share in the worship service. Lunch will be served following the service. Soup an hot dogs will be provided. Bring a side dish, dessert and drink to share. Tractor ride will be 1-3 p.m.

Rally Day concerts slated for Sept. 30

MIFFLINTOWN — First Baptist Church, Route 35, one mile north of Mifflintown, will host Rally Day Concerts during 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services Sept. 30. Concerts will feature Nashville recording artist True Heart. A potluck meal will follow the 10:30 a.m. service. Everyone is welcome.

Movie night held at Mt. Bethel Church

McCLURE — Disney’s “Bolt” will be shown during family movie night at 7 p.m., Oct. 5 at Mt. Bethel Church of McClure, 16 E. Specht St. Attendees can enjoy popcorn and drinks. Admission is free. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.

Church Hill to host first art festival

REEDSVILLE — Church Hill United Methodist Church, 199 Woodland Circle, Reedsville, will host an art festival 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 6. There will be vendors, games for kids and food. All are welcome.

Pine Glen CMA hosts grief recovery group

LEWISTOWN — GriefShare grief recovery, a faith-based seminar and support group, will be held 6:30 to 8:30 p.m Thursdays through Nov. 29. The group will meet at Pine Glen Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 1058 state Route 103 north, Lewistown. Information: (717) 543-8968.
