McALISTERVILLE — The Dixie Melody Boys, a southern gospel quartet, will be in concert at 7 p.m. Friday at Stony Run Mission, 2825 Evendale Hill Road, McAlisterville. A free-will offering will be lifted.

Lessons and carols service set for Dec. 31

LEWISTOWN — A lessons and carols service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 31 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 21 S. Main St., Lewistown.

Trinity UMC hosting combined service

LEWISTOWN — Trinity United Methodist Church will host a combined service with Freedom Avenue UMC at 10 a.m., Dec. 31, at Freedom Avenue UMC.

Bring stuffed animals to ark-themed service

PORT ROYAL — A New Year’s Eve worship service is set for 10:45 a.m. Dec. 31 at Port Royal United Methodist Church. The event will have a Noah’s Ark theme, and children are encouraged to bring their stuffed animals.

Churches to combine, host MCHS cantare

REEDSVILLE — Church Hill and Milroy United Methodist churches will combine worship with Reedsville United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. Jan. 7 at Reedsville UMC, 60 E. Logan St., Reedsville. The churches will host the Mifflin County High School Cantare. A pot luck lunch will be held after worship.

JMS raising funds

for 2018 mission trip

McALISTERVILLE — Juniata Mennonite School will host a benefit concert beginning at 7 p.m. Jan. 13 at Bunkertown Church of the Brethren. The event will raise funds for the 2018 Jamaica mission trip.

Ministerium to host ecumenical worship

LEWISTOWN — The Lewistown Ministerium will host an ecumenical worship service at 10 a.m. Jan. 21 at Lewistown Middle School. All area churches and residents are invited to participate.

LEWISTOWN — The Sentinel invites area religious leaders to submit columns for “Professions of Faith” in the Sentinel’s weekly religion section.
