Weber to lead weekly community Bible study

MILROY — A community Bible study, “Chapter by Chapter, Verse by Verse starting with Genesis,” led by Marc Weber, will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on the second and fourth Friday of each month at Hartman Center, 5725 Old Highway 322, Milroy. The study is an outreach of Calvary Chapel Lebanon (ccleb.com).

Join church for concerts on second Saturday

ALFARATA — The St. Marks Lutheran Church in Alfarata continues its music series with concerts at 7 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month at the church.

Youth group raising funds for trip to Texas

MOUNT PLEASANT MILLS — The United in Christ Lutheran Parish Youth Group will host a benefit auction today at Fremont Fire Company social hall (carnival grounds) in Mount Pleasant Mills. Doors open at 5 p.m.; auction begins at 7 p.m. Items to be auctioned include donations, gift cards, quilts, framed pictures, crafts, baked goods and canned goods. The youth also will have a food stand at the auction. Proceeds benefit youth members’ trip next summer to the ELCA Youth Gathering in Houston, Texas.

Revival services set for Beth-El church

BELLEVILLE — Revival services are planned for Oct. 9 to 15 at Beth-El Mennonite Church, 1150 Front Mountain Road, Belleville. Services begin daily at 7:30 p.m.. There will also be a service at 9:15 a.m. Oct. 15. Evangelist is Pastor Douglas Brubaker, of Ridgely, Md.

Church of Christ to hold gospel meeting

MILROY — The Church of Christ at Milroy will hold a gospel meeting from Oct. 13 to 15. The speaker is Keith Shackleford, of Purcell, Okla.

Friday’s meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Quality Inn, 13015 Ferguson Valley Road, Burnham. “The Age of Discovery” is the topic.

Saturday’s meetings will be at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the same location. The lessons are “Forgiveness,” “Why We Need the Gospel” and “The Church in Prophesy.”

On Sunday, the church will meet at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. at 15 Siglerville Pike, Milroy. The subject at both sessions is “The Faith of Abraham.”

Fellowship sponsoring free viewing of movie

STATE COLLEGE — The Central PA Creation Fellowship is sponsoring a free showing of the movie “Is Genesis History?” at 7 p.m. Oct. 13 at Calvary Church of State College, 150 Harvest Fields Drive, Boalsburg. Rally day will feature worship, special music

McALISTERVILLE — Brown’s United Methodist Church will celebrate Fall Rally Day in a combined worship/Sunday school service at 9 a.m. Oct. 15. A covered dish meal will follow.

The Rev. Art Montgomery will bring a message entitled, “But do you love me more than these?” Montgomery has served as a United Methodist pastor for more than 30 years and is now retired and living in the Shamokin Dam area.

Daybreak, the keyboard and vocal husband and wife team of Brad and Mary Barrows, of Harrisburg, will present music with the theme, “Exult the Name of Jesus.”

A special touch for the young and young at heart will be provided by Brenda Esterline, of Richfield.

McCLURE — A homecoming service is set for 10 a.m. Oct. 15 at Wagner United Methodist Church, McClure. A fellowship lunch will follow the service.

during free showing

REEDSVILLE — A free showing of “What If …” will take place at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 15 at Reedsville United Methodist Church. This movie tells the story of Ben Walker, who left his college sweetheart and his calling to be a preacher in order to pursue a business opportunity. God has other plans. Ben learns the value of faith and family and discovers his true purpose in life.

Band to perform at anniversary service

MIDDLEBURG — A service in honor of the 85th anniversary of Beavertown God’s Missionary Church will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 15 at the church, 1653 Creek Road, Middleburg. The Lebanon Valley Gospel Band will be in concert at 6:30 p.m.

Gator Camp dinner

to be held in October

BELLEVILLE — The annual Gator Camp Awareness Dinner at Locust Grove Mennonite Church is set for 6:30 p.m. Oct. 28.

The camp is a school for boys ages 10 to 16 years old in southwest Florida. There, boys focus on building relationships, solving problems and learning responsibility.

There is no charge for the dinner; an offering will be lifted. Donations go directly to Gator Wilderness Camp School.

Ladies retreat set for Nov. 3 to 4 in MU

MOUNT UNION — “Celebrating Your Transformation,” a ladies retreat, will be held Nov. 3 to 4 at Grace Community Church, 310 W. Poplar St., Mount Union. The retreat begins with a potluck meal at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 3, followed by a service. The event continues from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 4; lunch is provided. There is no cost to attend.

Speakers include Jane Bailey and Verna Clemmer, who will talk about changes, choices and consequences. There will be worship and testimonials by community members.
