Lewistown Ministerium to hold Prayer Vigil for Racial Reconciliation
LEWISTOWN — In view of recent events, Lewistown Presbyterian Church will host a Prayer Vigil for Racial Reconciliation at 7 p.m. Aug. 27 at the church.
Speakers during the event, which is sponsored by the Lewistown Ministerium, will include the host pastor, Rev. Jim Thomas, and the Rev. Jayaseelan Amalanathan, assistant pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Lewistown. The Rev. Bernard Carpenter will provide special music.
Amalanathan will speak of life in his native India, as a member of the 300 million Dalit or “untouchable” caste and of his work advocating for equal rights.
Join the Lewistown Ministerium as it models Christ’s reconciling love, and receive comfort and reassurance through prayer.
