Mountain View to host March conference

REEDSVILLE — Mountain View Chapel will host a Refreshment Conference from Sunday through Wednesday at the church, 104 Shelly Drive, Reedsville.

On Sunday, evangelist Tom Palmer will speak during morning worship set for 10:15 a.m. Evening sessions begin at 6:30 p.m. daily from Sunday through Wednesday.

Men’s breakfasts to be held in Port Royal

PORT ROYAL — The following speakers will lead Port Royal Men’s Lenten Pray Breakfasts, set for the following dates:

Rev. Todd Levin to speak in Lewistown

LEWISTOWN — The Rev. Todd Levin, missionary, evangelist and Bible teacher, will visit Light Ministries Church in March.

Special services are set for 6:30 p.m. today and 10 a.m. Sunday at the church, 181 Caldwell Hill Road, Lewistown.

Levin was coordinator of Reach Out for Christ International Ministries in the Czech Republic.

Light Ministries is associated with Rhema Bible Church.

Music series to be held throughout Lent

LEWISTOWN — The Burnham Derry Ministerium will hold a Lenten Coffeehouse Series, beginning with a performance by David Hartsock on Sunday at Highland Park Presbyterian Church on Electric Avenue. The social gathering begins at 6:30 p.m., and music begins at 7 p.m. There will be a minister’s message in between music and a closing prayer.

¯March 19 — The Hayride Gospel Band, at Vira United Methodist Church;

Lenten teas set for each Tuesday in Lent

PORT ROYAL — Port Royal Community Lenten Teas will be held at 10 a.m. each Tuesday in Lent and will be hosted by the Port Royal Presbyterian Church. The theme is “They Knew How to Pray.”

Events are set for the following dates:

¯March 7 — Pastor Terry Brosius will speak about the prayer life of Moses;

¯March 14 — Pastor Caleb Burd will speak about the prayer life of Joshua;

¯March 21 — Pastor Nancy McClure will speak about the prayer life of Hannah;

¯March 28 — Ted Kepner will speak about the prayer life of David;

¯April 4 — Skip Kepner will speak about the prayer life of Paul;

¯April 11 — Pastor Crystal Lyde will speak on the topic “Your Prayer Life.”

Pastor hosting Lent Bible study series

YEAGERTOWN — Pastor Carola Beasley-Topliffe will present Lenten Bible studies, using “Leading a Grace-Full Life,” at 7 p.m. weekly on Wednesdays, March 8 through April 5. The group will be held in the downstairs social hall of Yeagertown United Methodist Church.

Kids invited to attend Good News Club

McCLURE — The Good News Club will meet from 3:45 to 5 p.m. March 9 at McClure First United Methodist Church, 10 Specht St., McClure. Children are invited for crafts, Bible inspiration, snacks and other fun. Kids in first through sixth grades are welcome.

Stony Run to hold

revival services

McALISTERVILLE — Revival services are set for 9:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. March 12 at Stony Run Mission in McAlisterville. Leroy Wion will be the evangelist. Services will then be held at 7 p.m. daily through March 15.

McClure church to hold annual rally day

McCLURE — Mount Bethel Church, a Conservative Christian Congregational Church, will hold its annual spring rally day, beginning at 10:15 a.m. March 12. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Charles Stump. Special music will be provided by Molly Bishop.

Wayne UMC hosting Christian music festival

McVEYTOWN — A festival of Christian music will be held at 2 p.m. March 12 at Wayne United Methodist Church, 46 Millers Quarry Road, McVeytown. Trena Figard, Wayne Choir, Mary Sechrist, Ron Miller and Jeff Kauffman will perform.

Mount Hope choir will present gospel music

MOUNT UNION — Mount Hope Missionary Baptist Church Choir, of Mount Union, will present an evening of gospel music beginning at 6:30 p.m. March 12 at Siglerville Congregational Church. Light refreshments will be available after the event.

Re-Creation to sing

at Reedsville church

REEDSVILLE — Re-Creation will sing at 7 p.m. March 12 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Reedsville.

Re-Creation is a group of young people who present religious and family-oriented music and entertainment for Veterans Affairs Medical Centers throughout the United States. The group typically consists of eight singers and one or two technicians.

The group was founded in 1976 and since that time has appeared in churches of all denominations, fairs, festivals, national conventions and banquets, and at major resort areas. Civic clubs, fraternal groups, schools and public and private organizations now keep Re-Creation booked for more than 300 concerts each year in all 50 states.

The public is invited to attend the concert. There is no cost, but a free-will offering will be received.

Gospel group to come to Ellen Chapel Church

LEWISTOWN — The Jacobs Brothers, a Christian gospel group. will perform at 7 p.m. March 12 at Ellen Chapel Church, located on Ferguson Valley Road near Lewistown.

All are welcome and a free will offering will be accepted during the event.

Garments of Praise

McALISTERVILLE — Garments of Praise will sing at 10:15 a.m. March 19 at Stony Run Mission in McAlisterville.

Spring rally featuring former Pittsburgh Pirate

LEWISTOWN — The 64th annual spring rally at First United Methodist Church in Lewistown will feature guest speaker Sid Bream, former Pittsburgh Pirate and Atlanta Brave baseball player.

The event is set to be held at 7 p.m. April 1 at the church, 200 E. Third St., Lewistown. A hot turkey dinner will be served prior to the event, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children.

Victory Express to sing at Stony Run

McALISTERVILLE — Victory Express will sing at 6 p.m. April 2 at Stony Run Mission in McAlisterville.

Gospel Bond will be

in concert on April 9

TROXELVILLE — Gospel Bond will be in concert during a Palm Sunday service set for 7 p.m. April 9 at Grace Reformed Church. YEAGERTOWN — “Seven Last Words,” a special church service, will be held at 7 p.m. April 14 in the sanctuary of Yeagertown United Methodist Church, on Mann Ave., behind the firehouse in Yeagertown.

“Thirst Quenchers” to be topic of ladies retreat

RICHFIELD — The annual ladies retreat hosted by Richfield Life Ministries Church is set for April 21-23 at Country Cupboard/Best Western in Lewisburg. McVEYTOWN — An auction to benefit Rachel Heckman’s mission trip to Kenya is set for 10 a.m. April 29 at Wayne United Methodist Church, 46 Millers Quarry Road, McVeytown. There will be food to purchase.
