Advent Organ recital

LEWISTOWN — An Advent organ recital will be held at the Lewistown Presbyterian Church, 17 E. 3rd St., Lewistown, Sunday, at 3 p.m.

Participants will be local organists/pianists Ryan Ditmer, Richard Hamler, Terri Limes, Joan Loewen, Patti Loudenslager, Joan Loewen, and Ellen Miller, who will present music of the season. Refreshments will be served after the concert.

Nativity Displays

BELLEVILLE — Watts Memorial United Methodist Church on the corner of Walnut and Green Streets in Belleville is again hosting their Nativity Display. Over 200 nativities will be on display in their sanctuary on today from 10 a.m.  to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public is cordially invited to attend this free event. Live Nativity drama

MIDDLEBURG — A Live Nativity drama will be presented at Middlecreek Farms, just 2 1/4 miles from the square of Middleburg on state route 522 south.

The story will run every thirty minutes from 6 to 9 p.m. each evening on Dec. 3, 10 and 17. There is no charge for admission but a donation box will be available.

Varun Sharam sharing conversion

OAKLAND MILLS — Dr. Varun Sharma of Lewistown Geisinger Hospital will be sharing Part 2 of his conversion from Hinduism to Christianity at Oakland Mills Evangelical Methodist Church on Dec. 4, 2016.

Nativity displays to be held in Reedsville

REEDSVILLE — Nativity scenes will be on display at the Church Hill United Methodist Church, Reedsville, from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 10.

Refreshments will be served.

Christmas in the Barn

MILLERSTOWN — A reenactment of the birth of Jesus Christ at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 10, behind the Millerstown Borough office complex on North High Street in Millerstown Borough.

Jesus’s birth will be told through a narrated skit. Live animals will also be featured. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served before and after the program. Barn isn’t heated, warm clothes are recommended. Sponsored by members of the Millerstown United Methodist Charge.

‘Saving Christmas’ movie showing

McALISTERVILLE — The Bunkertown Church of the Brethren in McAlisterville invites everyone to a showing of “Saving Christmas” on Friday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m. in their Family Life Center.

“Saving Christmas” is a Christian based comedy film about Kirk and his love of everything Christmas. Kirk’s sister’s annual Christmas party is about to be ruined by Christian, his brother-in-law, and Kirk realizes he has to show Christian how important Christ is to the holiday season.

MIFFLINTOWN — The Stephen’s Lutheran Church’s Cantata Choir of Licking Creek Valley will present the cantata, “Go Sing It on the Mountain,” on Sunday, Dec. 11, at the church, at 6:30 p.m. Please join us to worship through the Christmas narrative.

The program is titled “The Legend of the Christmas King.”

GriefShare recovery seminar slated

LEWISTOWN — GriefShare grief recovery seminar and support group will meet at Pine Glen CMA Church in Lewistown from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. through Dec. 22.  The church is located at 1058 state Route 103 North, Lewistown.

GriefShare features nationally recognized experts on grief recovery topics. Seminar sessions include, “Is this Normal,” “The Challenges of Grief,” “Grief and Your Relationships,” “Why?” and “Guilt and Anger.”

Galatians Sunday study series

PORT ROYAL — Port Royal UMC and Matamoras UMC will present a          new Bible study series         on Galatians until          Christmas.

Galatians is a “fight song” themed book, about the gospel. It is a strong affirmation of liberty based on grace. It is a bold          attack on legalism based on works.

Services begin with a contemporary worship   service at Port Royal    UMC at 8:30 a.m., a traditional service at Matamoras UMC at 9:30 a.m., and       a traditional service at    Port Royal UMC 10:45 a.m.
