Revival Services to be held through Sunday

BELLEVILLE — Beth-El Mennonite Church is planning Special Revival Services being held through Sunday.

Evangelist Pastor Nathan Horst of Weyers Cave, Virginia, will be the guest pastor for the services which will begin at 7:30 p.m. each night except for Sunday at 9:15 a.m.

Sacred Heart holds adult Bible study

LEWISTOWN — Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Lewistown, is holding an adult Bible study on  God’s mercy at 7 p.m. every Tuesday until Nov. 22.

The classes are held at 9 N. Brown St., Lewistown.

Advent organ recital slated for Nov. 27

LEWISTOWN — An Advent organ recital will be held at the Lewistown Presbyterian Church, 17 E. 3rd St., Lewistown, Sunday, Nov. 27, at 3 p.m.

Participants will be local organists/pianists Ryan Ditmer, Richard Hamler, Terri Limes, Joan Loewen, Patti Loudenslager, Joan Loewen, and Ellen Miller, who will present music of the season. Refreshments will be served after the concert.

Philippians Alpha Course being held

PORT ROYAL — Port Royal UMC will host an Alpha Course through Thanksgiving Eve. There will be a course at noon with lunch and a hymn sing. Another course will take place at 6:30 p.m., with dinner and contemporary singing.

Each course will include a talk on Philippians, and small table conversations.

Nativity displays to be held in Reedsville

REEDSVILLE — Nativity scenes will be on display at the Church Hill United Methodist Church, Reedsville, from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 10.

Refreshments will be served.

Live Nativity drama to be presented

MIDDLEBURG — A Live Nativity drama will be presented at Middlecreek Farms, just 2 1/4 miles from the square of Middleburg on state route 522 south.

The story will run every thirty minutes from 6 to 9 p.m. each evening on Dec. 3, 10, and 17. There is no charge for admission but a donation box will be available.

‘Saving Christmas’ movie showing

McALISTERVILLE — The Bunkertown Church of the Brethren in McAlisterville invites everyone to a showing of “Saving Christmas” on Friday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m. in their Family Life Center.

“Saving Christmas” is a Christian based comedy film about Kirk and his love of everything Christmas. Kirk’s sister’s annual Christmas party is about to be ruined by Christian, his brother-in-law, and Kirk realizes he has to show Christian how important Christ is to the holiday season.

PORT ROYAL — Join the Port Royal UMC at 6 p.m. on Dec. 11 to walk around town singing Christmas carols.

After singing hot chocolate and cookies will be served.

Caroling and hot chocolate fellowship

REEDSVILLE — Join the Reedsville United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. Dec. 11 for Christmas caroling around town.

Afterward meet at the church for hot chocolate and cookies.

Special New Year’s Day worship service set

PORT ROYAL — Join the Matamoras UMC at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 1 for a service or Port Royal UMC Combined at 10:45 a.m. for New Year’s Day worship services.

Special trumpeter performance set

McCLURE — World renowned trumpeter Chris Rider will be performing a christmas concert Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. at McClure First United Methodist Church.

Christmas Cantata set for Dec. 18

PORT ROYAL — During the 10:45 a.m. service on Dec. 18, the Port Royal UMC will have the “Spirit of Christmas” cantata.

GriefShare recovery seminar slated

LEWISTOWN — GriefShare grief recovery seminar and support group will meet at Pine Glen CMA Church in Lewistown from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. through Dec. 22  The church is located at 1058 state Route 103 North, Lewistown.

GriefShare features nationally recognized experts on grief recovery topics. Seminar sessions include, “Is this Normal,” “The Challenges of Grief,” “Grief and Your Relationships,” “Why?” and “Guilt and Anger.”

Galatians series to be presented

PORT ROYAL — Port Royal UMC and Matamoras UMC will present a new Bible study series on Galatians until Christmas.

Galatians is a “fight song” themed book, about the gospel. It is a strong affirmation of liberty based on grace. It is a bold attack on legalism based on works. Services begin with a contemporary worship service at Port Royal UMC at 8:30 a.m., a traditional service at Matamoras UMC at 9:30 a.m., and a traditional service at Port Royal UMC 10:45 a.m.
