Church to host DivorceCare sessions for kids, adults
BELLEVILLE – DivorceCare for kids and adults is scheduled to be held this fall at Locust Grove Mennonite Church in Belleville.
DivorceCare for Kids is a group intended to help children heal from hurt caused by the separation or divorce of their parents. According to a press release from the church, the program is designed to replicate a large family environment, and parents are encouraged to be involved with their children as they progress through DC4K. Parents will receive weekly updates about what children have learned and tips to strengthen parent/child relationships.
DivorceCare for adults is a weekly seminar and support group for people who are separated or divorced. It’s a place where individuals who are experiencing separation or divorce can be around others who understand what he or she is feeling, the release states.
DC4K follows the same schedule and age-appropriate themes as DivorceCare, allowing parents and children to progress through the healing process together. Programs are non-denominational and feature biblical teaching, the release states.
The program will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. weekly on Mondays at Locust Grove Mennonite Church. Sessions will be held from Sept. 8 through Dec. 8, except for Thanksgiving week.
Pre-registration may be completed online at www.locustgrovemc.org. Click “Children’s Ministries.” There is no fee for this program.
