Tickets available at Gibs Service Station, Toots’ Place and the fire house off Route 655, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays. Tickets also available day of drawing. Wristband required to enter grounds. Thursday, Aug. 22

¯Mifflin County Chapter of PASR “We’re not going back to school” picnic — 11:30 a.m., Kish Park, green pavilion. Meal begins at noon. Chicken, water and utensils will be provided. Please bring a dish to share and a prize for bingo. No reservations needed.

¯Former Curves members luncheon — 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Londonderry Restaurant, Reedsville.

¯Clothing and shoe donations — noon-3 p.m., Evangel Baptist Church, 375 W. Fifth St., Lewistown. A volunteer will be there to assist.

¯Blood drive — 12:30-6 p.m., First United Methodist Church, Lewistown.

¯Grocery bingo — 1 p.m., Yeagertown Senior Center. Bring a grocery item and $1.25 for bingo card. Benefits the senior center.

¯Blood drive — 1-6:30 p.m., McVeytown Fire Co.

¯Jam session — Lewistown Senior Center, 515 Knepp Ave., (former Central Novelty building). Kitchen opens at 5 p.m., jam session with Country Boy will start at 6 p.m.

¯Aerobics — 6-7 p.m., Hope Center, Bethel AME Church, Lewistown. Cost is $2 if not a member of the church.

Friday, Aug. 23

¯Coffee with friends — 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Lack Tuscarora EMS, East Waterford. For seniors, no cost. There will be crafts, exercise, speakers and Bible study. Light lunch provided.

¯Free Lunch 4 All –11 a.m.-1 p.m., FMC Building, Mifflintown. No takeout.

¯Single moms care and support group — 6-8 p.m., New Life Church Cafe, 101 Beech St., Burnham. Meetings held Sept. 14-May 31. Meal served 6:30-7 p.m. Child care runs 7-8 p.m. while mothers meet in groups. Information: (717) 437-4946.

Saturday, Aug. 24

¯Banerville Fire Co. All you can eat breakfast — 6-10 a.m., Bannerville Fire Co. Adults are $9; kids 12-5, $4.50; kids under 5 are free.

¯Millerstown annual outdoor flea market and craft show — 7 a.m.-1 p.m., Millerstown Community Park, 110 W. Juniata Parkway. Information: (717) 589-3598.

¯Brick Saturday — 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Mifflin County Library, Lewistown, and Kish Branch Library, Belleville. Kids of all ages can come and play with Legos provided by the library.

¯Author visit — 11:30 a.m., Mifflin County Library, Lewistown. Author visit by Ren and Helen Davis, speaking about their book, “Landscapes for the People,” about George Alexander Grant, first chief photographer for the National Park Service. No registration required. Books will be available for purchase.
