Juniata Elementary School students participated in their first positive behavior interventions and supports assembly since transitioning into the new school building on Friday in Mifflintown. As part of the assembly, students and teachers acted out skits that demonstrated positive behavior in the classroom and played games. Shown, students compete to see who can find a piece of gum in a plate full of whipped topping without using their hands and blow a bubble.

During the Juniata County Fair the Parent Teacher Organization held a fundraiser in which people could vote on who they would like to see kiss a pig. Superintendent Keith Yarger received the most votes and kissed a pig during Friday’s assembly.

A 30th anniversary celebration was recently held for Paul and Sonya Ziegler at the Hotel Hershey. Thirty-three family members were in attendance to celebrate with them. Paul Ziegler, son of Dean and Lois Ziegler, and Sonya Miller, daughter of Gary and Linda Miller were married at Ellen Chapel, Ferguson Valley, on New Year’s Eve,1988. They have two children, Max and Rae.
