Man charged with receiving stolen property

21-year-old suspected in armed robbery, car theft incidents

LEWISTOWN–A 21-year-old was charged Friday with one felony count of receiving stolen property after the keys to a stolen vehicle were found on his person, according to court documents.

Documents indicate that Devian Rounds, of Lewistown, was arrested by PSP-Lewistown, following his possible connection to an armed robbery on Walnut street Friday, when the arresting trooper located the keys to a stolen vehicle in Rounds’ front left pocket during a search incident to the arrest. Earlier on Friday, Mifflin County Regional Police Department had been dispatched to a Princeton Street residence on Friday, regarding a report of a stolen 2018 olive green Jeep Compass, bearing registration KTL-1239, court documents state. The accuser told police that he had parked the vehicle overnight, unlocked with the keys in the left visor, and woke up to find the vehicle missing.

Documents state that Rounds denied any knowledge of both the stolen vehicle and armed robbery, while police attempted to interview him.

Rounds had a preliminary arraignment before Magisterial District Judge Jack Miller, who set bail at $35,000. Round was committed to Mifflin County Correctional Facility, unable to post the bail set, and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 19.
