Fill-A-Cruiser event scheduled for Friday

LEWISTOWN — The annual Fill-A-Cruiser event, sponsored by the Pennsylvania State Police-Lewistown, will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the downtown Lewistown Giant, 200 S. Dorcas St., Lewistown.

Non-perishable food items will be collected until the designated police cruiser is filled and all donated items will be divided among the Mother Hubbard Cupboard at St Mark’s Episcopal Church and the Lumina Center. Monetary donations will also be accepted.

In addition to PSP troopers, the Lewistown Kiwanis and criminal justice students from South Hills Business and Technology school will be assisting at the event.

CareerLink offers GED test prep classes

PA CareerLink offers GED(R) test preparation classes Monday through Thursday 12:30-3:30 pm. Call (717) 248-4942 to speak with an instructor. Classes available in Mifflin and Juniata counties.

PA CareerLink needs volunteer classroom aides for adult education classes. Support the classroom instructor by working one on one with students or in small groups. No experience necessary. Flexible schedules in Mifflin or Juniata counties.

Bratton Township tax hours changed

MCVEYTOWN — Bratton Township Tax Collector Connie Peachey has announced a change in tax hours. The Dec. 20 hours are cancelled and rescheduled for 10 a.m. to noon on Dec. 21.
