Lewistown man found guilty of possession

LEWISTOWN–A jury of seven men and five women deliberated 45 minutes Thursday and returned a verdict of guilty for two felony counts against John A. Beers V, 32, of Lewistown, said District Attorney Christopher Torquato. Beers was convicted of one count of distributing a controlled substance–Buprenorphine–to inmates in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility and one count of possessing a controlled substance in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility. Beers was remanded into custody by President Judge David Barron and is scheduled to appear in January for formal sentencing, facing a mandatory sentence of two to four years incarceration.
