Potters Mills update

STATE COLLEGE — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is alerting area drivers to potential delays next week on its Route 322/Potters Mills Gap project. Up-to-date information can be found on the PMG Project page at www.penndot.gov/pottersmillsgap. Through Nov. 16, drivers may encounter the following:

–Monday through Thursday, Nov. 12 through 15, westbound traffic will be detoured off Route 322 at Potters Mills and be directed to use Route 144 north to Old Fort and Route 45 west to Route 322 west at Boalsburg. This detour will be in place during daylight hours only, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. This movement will minimize traffic stops and keep traffic flowing as the contractor performs roadway widening work.

–To assist with detoured traffic, flaggers will be in the roadway at the intersection of Route 144 and Route 45 in Old Fort.

–Eastbound traffic will remain on Route 322.

–About a mile east of the Route 322/144 intersection. westbound traffic will be redirected to the crossover once again beginning in the afternoon hours of Nov. 10.

–Work will also continue off the roadway and drivers should be alert for construction vehicles entering and exiting Route 322 through the Potters Mills area.

–As work continues through November, drivers could encounter traffic stops of less than 10 minutes Nov. 19 and 20 and Nov. 27 through 30.

Drivers should also be aware that the westbound detour using Routes 144 and 45 may return temporarily in November so that roadway widening work can take place.
