¯12th annual free Thanksgiving meal–11 a.m.-2 p.m., Nov. 22, Beaver Lutheran Church, Route 522 between Beaver Springs and Beavertown. Come and bring a friend. Takeout is available and transportation or delivery is available for area shut-ins in the western Snyder County areas of Beavertown, Beaver Springs, Troxelville and McClure by calling the church. ¯Make-it, take it–12:30-3 p.m., Nov. 26, LUMINA Center. During the event, children will make handmade Christmas gifts for the family including perfumes and tea wreaths. ¯148th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Regiment, Company C, Civil War Reenactment Group meeting–7:30 p.m., Hoss’s Steak and Sea House, 1450 N. Atherton St., State College. The reenactors will be discussing their participation in the 155th Anniversary of President Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address that will take place for Remembrance Day Memorial Ceremonies, Parade and Civil War era balls held in Gettysburg the weekend of Nov. 16-17. The unit will also nominate officers for administrative and military positions for 2019 and discuss attending the annual United States Volunteers (USV) Brigade meeting at the Gettysburg Hotel on Jan. 12.
