Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown

¯DUI–A 17-year-old male was charged for DUI following an incident that occurred at approximately 8:49 p.m. on Aug. 3 in Walker Township, Juniata County.

According to the report, the 17-year-old McAlisterville resident was stopped for a traffic violation. Following investigation, the juvenile was found to be in possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and Xanax. The juvenile was also suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Charges were later filed through District Court.

¯DUI–One man was arrested for DUI following an incident that occurred at approximately 10:40 p.m. on Aug. 3 on Locust Grove Road in Milford Township, Juniata County.

According to the report, Keith Obrian Bender, 20, crashed his vehicle and was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI. Charges were filed following the incident.

¯DUI–One man was charged with DUI following an incident that occurred at approximately 9:42 p.m. on Aug. 4 on Cedar Springs Road in Delaware Township, Juniata County.

According to the report, Todd Schlegel, 47, of Millerstown, was traveling on Cedar Springs Road when he struck a utility pole. Following investigation, Schlegel was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Charges were later filed through District Court.

¯Retail theft–PSP Lewistown investigated an incident of retail theft that occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Aug. 22 at the Family Dollar in Walker Township, Juniata County.

According to the report, Brittney Kreider, 19, of McAlisterville, stole $27 worth of Merchandise from the Family Dollar. Charges were later filed through District Court.

¯Crash–PSP Lewistown responded to a two vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5:44 p.m. on Aug. 24 in Menno Township, Mifflin County.

According to the report, Alan D. Miller, 22, of Lewistown, was operating a 2007 Kenworth W9 Series when he attempted to pass a horse and buggy. As he was passing the buggy, Miller noticed a 2018 Ford Focus traveling south toward him, causing him to swerve back into his lane and lose control of his trailer. The trailer reportedly traveled off the roadway and struck a telephone pole before overturning onto its driver’s side. The unit slid approximately 100 feet before coming to final rest. The operator of the Ford, Beverly Schmidt, 73, of Mill Creek, was unable to stop in time and struck the trailer. No injuries were reported but Miller was cited following the crash.

¯Harassment–One man was charged with harassment following an incident that occurred at approximately 7 p.m. on Aug. 24 on Parson Drive in Wayne Township, Mifflin County.

According to the report, Wilbert I. McCartney Jr., 55, of Mount Union shoved a 60-year-old female victim in the chest.

¯Crash–PSP Lewistown responded to a single vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:10 a.m. on Aug. 25 on Route 35 in Beale Township, Juniata County.

According to the report, Everett D. Planck, 44, of Lewisberry was traveling north in a 2016 BMW 320I when he swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway and struck a utility pole. The vehicle sustained disabling damage to its right side. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

¯Theft–PSP Lewistown are investigating an incident of theft that occurred sometime between Aug. 28 and Sept. 4 on Sandy Beach Drive in Oliver Township, Mifflin County.

According to the report, a Predator 4000-watt generator was taken from a property on Sandy Beach Drive. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact PSP Lewistown.

¯Crash–PSP Lewistown responded to a two vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:57 a.m. on Aug. 30 on Croghan Pike in Wayne Township, Mifflin County.

According to the report, Sarah E. McGahan, 37, was traveling in a 2002 Ford Focus when she struck the rear of a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, operated by Connie F. Hann, 57, of Fort Littleton, which was stopped at a red light.

¯Crash–PSP Lewistown responded to a two vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:51 p.m. on Aug. 31 on U.S. Highway 522 in Wayne Township, Mifflin County.

According to the report, Kiera L. Zong, 19, of McVeytown was traveling in a 1998 Honda Civic when she struck a 2010 Suzuki Grand Vitara, operated by Melvin E. Grove, 78, of McVeytown, while Grove was preparing to make a left hand turn. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and Grove was taken to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

¯Crash–PSP Lewistown responded to a single vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:41 p.m. on Sept. 2 in Armagh Township, Mifflin County.

According to the report, Blaine H. Wainwright, 26, of Reedsville, was traveling in a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze when he fell asleep behind the wheel and struck a concrete barrier. Wainwright was reported wearing his seat belt and was uninjured in the crash.

¯False report–PSP Lewistown investigated a rape claim that was reported between Sept. 2 and 3 at Locust Grove Retirement Village in Milford Township, Juniata County.

According to the report, a 76-year-old woman claimed that she was raped by an unknown assailant. Following investigation, troopers determined that the incident did not occur.

¯False urine–PSP Lewistown was dispatched to the Juniata County Probation office for a report of female who attempted to falsify a drug test at approximately 2:55 p.m. on Sept. 4.

According to the report, a 50-year-old female who was on probation supervision provided a false urine sample and was detained.

¯Crash–PSP Lewistown responded to a two vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5 p.m. on Sept. 4 on Route 35 in Fayette Township, Juniata County.

According to the report, a 17-year-old male driver, of Mount Pleasant Mills was traveling in a 2013 GMC Sierra when he struck the rear of a 2014 Subaru Forester, operated by Marianne J. Jones, 38, of McAlisterville. Both vehicles were disabled as a result of the crash and were towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.

¯Crash–PSP Lewistown responded to a two vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:28 p.m. on Sept. 4 on U.S. Highway 322 in Armagh Township, Mifflin County.

According to the report, Matthew S. Adams, 35, of Mattawana, was traveling in a 2015 Jeep Renegade when he switched into the right lane and struck the rear of a 2016 Kenworth T680 operated by Todd A. Ritzman, 46, of Elizabethtown. Adams’ vehicle overturned as a result of the impact. Adams was not reported wearing his seat belt, but was uninjured. Ritzman also escaped without injury. Adams was later cited for the crash.
