Lewistown Police Department
¯Hit and run — Lewistown police investigated a hit and run incident that occurred at approximately 10:19 a.m. on Aug. 16 on Valley Street in Lewistown.
According to the report, the female owner of a struck vehicle was reportedly inside the Evolution Arts Center for music lessons when they were informed that Ryan McCormick, 51, of Lewistown, had struck her Buick Lacrosse. McCormick reportedly left the scene, but was later apprehended by Pennsylvania State Police for other unrelated charges. Damage to McCormick’s Dodge Durango was found to be consistent with the damage to the victim’s Buick Lacrosse. Charges were later filed for the incident.
¯Criminal trespassing — Lewistown police responded to an incident of criminal trespassing that occurred at approximately 10:47 a.m. on Aug. 17 on S. Dorcas St. in Lewistown.
According to the report, officers were dispatched to the Giant Store for a report that Paul Goss, 62, of Juniata Terrace, was on the property after being served with a warning against trespass. Goss was reportedly observed exiting the Dollar General, whose property is owned by Giant. Goss was told to leave immediately and he followed orders. Goss was later charged for trespassing.
¯Resisting arrest — One man was charged with resisting arrest and drug possession following an incident that occurred at approximately 4:11 p.m. on Aug. 17 on E. Third St. in Lewistown.
According to the report, police were assisting Mifflin County Probation and Parole officers in the arrest of Trevor Hackenberg, 19, of Lewistown. When Hackenberg observed the officers, he reportedly fled on foot. He was caught after a short pursuit on foot, but he reportedly experienced an opiate overdose after being placed in handcuffs. FAME EMS personnel later arrived on scene and provided medical assistance. A search of Hackenberg’s residence lead to the discovery of drug paraphernalia.
¯Ordinance violation — One man was cited for an ordinance violation following an incident that occurred at approximately 1:17 p.m. on Aug. 19 on Forsythe Lane in Lewistown.
According to the report, officers were informed that an older male and two juveniles were throwing rocks into the victim’s pool. The officers arrived on scene and made contact with Daniel Aikey and the juveniles. Aikey was later cited for throwing objects.
¯Disorderly conduct — Lewistown police cited one man for disorderly conduct following an incident that occurred on Aug. 20 on N. Juniata St. in Lewistown.
According to the report, an officer was flagged down by Danta Lamont Scott, 37, in front of Sheetz. Scott reportedly stated that he was being harassed by an employee inside the store. Through witness statements and surveillance footage, officers determined that it was Scott that had entered the store and caused a disturbance by yelling at employees and customers in the store. Scott was later cited for disorderly conduct for creating a public disturbance.

¯Falsification — PSP Lewistown is investigating an incident involving unsworn falsification to authorities that occurred at approximately 3:21 p.m. on May 25 at the Dan Pierce Outdoor Shop in Lewistown.
According to the report, a known suspect attempted to purchase a firearm at the shop and there was an issue with the paperwork. The issue is currently under investigation.
¯DUI — Two people were charged following a DUI incident that occurred at approximately 1:35 a.m. on July 5 on W. 6th St. in Lewistown, Mifflin County.
According to the report, Gavin Bailey Sage, 19, of Lewistown, and a 17-year-old male, of Lewistown, were encountered during a traffic stop. Following investigation, Sage was taken into custody for DUI and the 17-year-old was taken into custody for possession of drugs.
¯Harassment — One woman was accused of harassment following an incident that occurred at approximately 10:46 p.m. on July 5 on Church Street in Mount Union.
According to the report, Katina Renee Gilliland, 42, of Three Springs, entered into a physical altercation with an alleged victim.
¯Fraud — PSP Lewistown is investigating an incident of access device fraud that occurred sometime between July 11 and July 20 in Mifflintown, Juniata County.
According to the report, a card transaction totaling $237 was made while the 27-year-old victim, of Mifflintown, was incarcerated. Anyone with information regarding his incident is encouraged to contact PSP Lewistown.
¯DUI — One man was charged for DUI following an incident that occurred at approximately 9:47 p.m. on July 26 in Milford Township, Juniata County.
According to the report, Herbert Keiser, 69, was stopped for an expired registration. Following further investigation, Keiser was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Charges were later filed through District Court.
¯Harassment — PSP Lewistown investigated an incident of harassment that occurred at approximately 9 a.m. on Aug. 6 in Turbett Township, Juniata County.
According to the report, a 24-year-old female, of Port Royal, reported that she was struck in the leg several times by a 24-year-old male, of Port Royal. The male was also reportedly in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Charges for the incident were later filed through District Court.
¯Crash — PSP Lewistown responded to a single vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 7:13 a.m. on Aug. 8 on Ferguson Valley Road in Wayne Township, Mifflin County.
According to the report, Victoria P. Jones, 22, of McVeytown, was traveling in a 2011 Mitsubishi Galant when she lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a right curve in the roadway. The vehicle then exited the left side of the roadway, traveling through grass and striking a bridge. The vehicle sustained disabling damage, but Jones was uninjured in the crash. She was later cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
