Commissioners discuss business

LEWISTOWN – During a brief business meeting on Thursday, the Mifflin County Commissioners took the following action:

¯ Approved the grant application for Rights and Services Act/Victims of Juvenile Offenders funds for the period January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2020 in the amount of $123,440.

¯ Approved Liquid Fuels allocation requests from Wayne Township ($5,052.79) and Brown Township ($5,029.07).

¯ Approved a settlement agreement and mutual limited release with Avanco Inc. of Fairfax, VA.

¯ Approved a request for a refund of the 2017 supplemental county real estate taxes for a parcel in Wayne Township where the tax bill was issued in error in the amount of $635.04.

¯ Approved the appointment of Alan Metzler of Reedsville to fill an unexpired term on the Mifflin County Airport Authority.

¯ Approved an addendum to the Medical Assistance Transportation Program contract to reflect the ongoing rate.

¯ Approved Emergency Food Assistance Program agreements with Calvary Bible Church and the Lewistown Salvation Army.

¯ Approved the promotion of Erika Rowland from eligibility clerk to intake caseworker in the Children & Youth Department effective Sept. 24.

¯ Approved the promotion of Scott Durst from part-time to full-time corrections officer effective Sept. 9.

¯ Accepted the resignation of Law Clerk Patrick Gregorits effective Sept. 28.
