Board members Troy Woodward and Joseph Shearer voting against the changes.
Woodward said he felt the board should wait until after the consolidation to see where resources are needed before approving changes. He also questioned why administrative changes were being made at the junior high and high school level when they were not included in the consolidation.
In an 8-1 vote, the board approved establishing the position of secondary dean of students/athletic director and further recommended the employment of Travis Quici to fill the position.
Woodward voted against the motion.
Also in an 8-1 vote, the board approved establishing the position of elementary dean of students/technology coach and further recommended David Portzline to fill the position.
Woodward again voted in opposition.
The board voted down an agreement to continue a contract with Executive Grant Writers, as it has in the past, to secure grants for the district.
The agreement included a fee of 8 percent of any competitive grant received and no fee for any grant not gained.
Board members Joseph Shearer, Angela Varner, Amy Wagner, Woodward, Heather Kelly, Christine McLaughlin and Danny Snyder opposed the motion, while Christine Shadel and Mark Wagner voted favorably.
