Local museums list hours for the season
The McCoy House Museum, located at 17 N. Main St., is open for the season from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Tuesday through September.

The Juniata County Historical Society’s Tuscarora Academy Museum is open from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The Tuscarora Academy’s address is 472 Academy Road, Mifflin. For those using Google Maps, simply type in Tuscarora Academy into the search.

MIFFLINTOWN — Upcoming performers for the Concert on the Lawn series at Brookline Healthcare and Rehabilitation Services, Mifflintown, include:
¯ Sept. 11 — Canaan’s Land Bluegrass.
Concerts are from 6 to 8 p.m. A cover charge of $2 per person will benefit the residents’ Christmas Fund. Concession stands will begin selling food at 5 p.m. Bring a lawn chair.

Thompsontown Fall Fest set for Sept. 22
THOMPSONTOWN –Thompsontown Fall Fest will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 22 at Haldeman Park, near the tennis/basketball court.
Many craft, direct sales and food vendors will be set up. There will be games for children and face painting inside the tennis/basketball court, in addition to a pet parade, paddle wheel and Chinese Auction.
The Juniata County Food Pantry will be there all day taking donations of nonperishable foods, diapers, wipes, laundry detergent, dish detergent, toilet paper and paper towels.
The event will not be held if it rains.
The Fall Fest is sponsored by the Thompsontown Fire Company.
