Man charged with indecent assault

LEWISTOWN — A 28-year-old man was charged Friday with two felony counts of indecent assault with a person less than 13 years of age, after sexually touching and kissing a juvenile relative, according to court documents.

Zachary Keiser, of Lewistown, reportedly touched the female juvenile over a period of two years on occasions when she was visiting family members, court documents state. Keiser was reportedly living with those family members because he allegedly had behaved in a similar fashion with another relative.

The juvenile reported that, on one occasion, she and Keiser were playing around when Keiser pinned her down and kissed her on the lips, according to court documents. The juvenile told police Keiser never made any threats toward her or told her not to tell, but she tried to act as though not had happened, court documents state. Ultimately, the juvenile said she told her friend, then decided to report the incident to police in May.

Keiser was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Reed and committed to Mifflin County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 29.
