¯Middleburg Kiwanis 5K run — 9 a.m., Aug. 11, Middleburg Firemen’s Field. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Event sponsored by the Middleburg Area Kiwanis Club and the Susquehanna Ridge Runners Club. ¯Brick Saturday — 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Mifflin County Library, Lewistown, and Kish Branch Library, Belleville. Kids of all ages can come and play with Legos provided by the library.

¯Chinese auction — doors open at 10 a.m., Grace Covenant Church, Middleburg. Sales end at 12:45 p.m., drawing at 1 p.m. Tickets cost $2 for one sheet of 25 or $5 for three sheets. Need not be present to win. Food, drinks and baked goods and chicken barbecue available. Benefits the Midd-West High School bowling team.

¯Back to School event — 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Highland Park Presbyterian Church, 604 Electric Avenue, Lewistown. Bookbags with supplies will be given to all school-age children for free. Gently used clothing will be available for free. Free hot dogs and ice cream will be available for anyone who attends. There will be door prizes.

¯Chicken barbecue — ready at 11 a.m., West Granville Fire Co., Strodes Mills. Cost is $5 a half.
