¯ Music on the Beach featuring Ray Owen — 5 to 7 p.m. Enjoy a lively and just plain fun musical program with Grammy nominated singer/songwriter and storyteller Ray Owen, around the bonfire on the beach. The first part finds Owen as Captain Jack Splash, the Water Dude, singing water related songs. After a short break, he will return as that scalawag song “bookaneer” Captain Rust Bucket. Both shows are filled with folk and popular music, presented as only Owen can, with a family-friendly Vaudevillian flair. Ray’s show is geared for kids, right down to his ever-popular animal karaoke.

Fun on the Beach day is sponsored by the Friends of Greenwood Furnace, Whipple Dam, and Penn-Roosevelt State Parks, a non-profit group of volunteers dedicated to supporting the parks and helping to fund projects and programming. Stop by and find out about volunteer opportunities. The food concession at the beach will be open normal hours: noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Activities and schedule subject to change without notice. Additional programs may be scheduled. Information about this and other park programs can be found on the park’s Facebook page at or on the Calendar of Events at the State Parks website at
