¯Middleburg Kiwanis 5K run–9 a.m., Aug. 11, Middleburg Firemen’s Field. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Event sponsored by the Middleburg Area Kiwanis Club and the Susquehanna Ridge Runners Club. Male and female and age divisions. Benefits the Seven Bridges District Scout Units and many Middleburg area community youth groups. Prizes for first, second and third place. ¯Coffee with friends–10 a.m.-1 p.m., Lack Tuscarora EMS, East Waterford. For seniors; no cost. There will be crafts, exercise, speakers and Bible study. Light lunch provided.

Saturday, July 28

¯All-you-can-eat breakfast–6-10 a.m., Bannerville Fire Co., 7547 Stage Road, McClure. Serving eggs made to order, bacon, scrapple, pancakes, French toast, homefries, sausage gravy, toast and drink. Adults, 12 and up, $8; kids, 6-11, $4; under five, free.

¯All-you-can-eat breakfast buffet–7-10 a.m., Richfield United Church of Christ, Richfield. Adults, $7; children age 6-12, $3.50.

¯Clothing closet–8-11 a.m., Beaver Lutheran Church, Beaver Springs.

¯Free community breakfast–8:30-10 a.m., Trinity United Methodist Church, Lewistown.

¯Brick Saturday–9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Mifflin County Library, Lewistown, and Kish Branch Library, Belleville. Kids of all ages can come and play with Legos provided by the library.

¯Auto show–2-6 p.m., Wagner United Methodist Church, Route 522 North, one-half mile past the Point Store. Cars, trucks, motorcycles invited to show for prizes. Registration fee is $5. Refreshments.

¯Keystone State Muscle Cars weekly cruise in–5-8:30 p.m., Milroy exit off of Route 322, across from Tom’s Service Plaza. All events are free and all cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc. are welcome.

Sunday, July 29

¯Musical performance–10:30 a.m., First United Methodist Church, Lewistown. Lisa Griffith will be singing during the 10:30 service. Lisa is a native of Belleville who now sings with the German Opera on the Rhine in Dusseldorf, Germany. Lisa graduated from Kishacoquillas High School, then went on to study music and graduate from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She earned a Master’s Degree in voice and an Artist’s Diploma in opera at the Cincinnati Conservatory. She has also performed for the Wiesbaden and Hanover Opera Companies. Griffith has given concerts throughout the world and has made several recordings.
