Vacation Bible School

¯“Jesus is Hero” is the theme for Vacation Bible School at Pine Glen Church of Brethren, 61 Pine Glen Road, Lewistown. Bible school will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. June 11 to June 13 and is open for ages 5 to 10. All children are welcome to study about miracles of Jesus and His healing powers. ¯“Ship Wrecked, God Rescues Us” is the theme for Vacation Bible School at the Yeagertown United Methodist Church from June 10 to June 14. The program runs 6 to 8:30 p.m. and includes music, games, lesson time, crafts and snacks. Parents and friends are invited to the children’s Thursday evening program and to join them in refreshments.

¯First Baptist Church, located on Route 35, one mile north of Mifflintown, will hold Vacation Bible School 6 to 8:30 p.m. June 10 to 14. This year’s theme is “Game on: Gearing up for Life’s Big Game.” The program will include Bible lessons, songs, crafts, snacks and more. Ages kindergarten to fifth grade are welcome. ¯“Time Lab: Discovering Jesus from Eternity Past to Eternity Present” is the theme for Vacation Bible School at Fairview Bible Church, of Lewistown, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 11 to 15. The program includes music, snacks, games, lessons and crafts. This year’s grand prize will be a set of corn hole boards. Children ages 4 to 12 are welcome to attend. ¯St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 293 Havice Valley Road, Siglerville, will hold Vacation Bible School 6 to 8 p.m. June 11 to 15. There will be a petting zoo on June 15.

¯Allensville Churches invites children to Shipwrecked Vacation Bible School from June 17 to 21. Children will discover that Jesus rescues them. They will participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play team-building games, eat yummy treats, experience one-of-a-kind Bible adventures and collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them of God’s love. Children will also learn to look for evidence of God all around them. Each day concludes with a Sail Away SendOff that gets everyone involved in living what they learned. ¯“Time Lab” will be the theme of Vacation Bible School at Stony Run Mission, McAlisterville, from 7 to 8:45 p.m. June 18 to June 22. Classes will be available for toddlers through teenagers.

¯New Life Church, 101 N. Beech St., Burnham, will hold Vacation Bible School 6 to 8 p.m. June 18 to June 22. It is open to ages 4 and 5 and grades kindergarten through fifth. The theme is “Moose on the Loose.”

¯Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 6 West Specht St., McClure, will hold Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8:30 p.m. June 18 to June 22. Youth ages kindergarten to fifth grade are invited to attend. ¯“Splash Canyon” will be the theme of Vacation Bible School at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Alfarata, 573 Alfarata Road, Lewistown. The program will be held 6 to 8 p.m. June 18 to 22.

¯Watts Memorial United Methodist Church in Belleville, with help from West Kish Presbyterian and Saint John Lutheran, will be hold Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8:30 p.m. June 21, 6 to 8:30 p.m. June 22 and 9 a.m. to noon June 23. Vacation Bible School will close during the 9 a.m. worship service on Sunday, June 24. The theme is Polar Blast.

¯East Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church will hold Vacation Bible School 6 to 8 p.m. June 25 to 29. Lessons will focus on Noah and the Great Flood.

¯Thompsontown Baptist Church, located in Delaware Terrace development in Thompsontown, will hold its Vacation Bible School 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. June 25 to 29. The theme this year is “Shipwrecked: Rescued by Jesus.”

¯Locust Run United Methodist Church, located on William Penn Highway between Thompsontown and Mifflintown, will hold Vacation Bible School 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. July 8 to 12. The theme is “One Way Cafe: Taste and See That the Lord is Good.” The program includes stories, games, crafts and snacks and is open to children ages 3 to sixth grade. ¯Centre Union Church will hold Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8:15 p.m. July 9 to 13. The theme is “Soul River.” Vacation Bible School will be held at the church, 200 Greenwood Ave., Yeagertown. It is open to children ages 4 to those who have just completed fourth grade.

¯Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church, 99 Taylor Dr., Reedsville, will hold Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8 p.m. July 22 to 26. The theme is Camp Moose on the Loose. Vacation Bible School is open to youth in prekindergarten through fifth grade. Preregister at www.kishvalleygbc.org/vbs-2018.

¯Aldersgate United Methodist Church will hold Rolling River Rampage Vacation Bible School for children kindergarten to fifth grade 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 22 to July 26. This white water rafting adventure includes new music, science, crafts, recreation and memorable Bible stories that will let children know God is always with them as they ride the rapids of life.

¯Church Hill United Methodist Church, located at 199 Woodland Circle, will host Vacation Bible School from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 22 to 26. This year’s theme is Rolling River Rampage. Ages kindergarten to fifth grade are welcome.

¯Bunkertown Church of the Brethren will hold “VBS Time Lab” — Discovering Jesus from Eternity Past to Eternity Future from 5:45 to 8:30 p.m. July 23 to July 27.
