Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown

¯Crash–PSP Lewistown responded to a single vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5:42 p.m. on May 25 on U.S. 322 in Fermanagh Township, Juniata County.

According to the report, a 16-year-old driver, of Lewistown, was traveling in 2009 Suzuki SX4 with passenger Dakota Fisher, 19, of Lewistown, when the front right tire of the vehicle burst. The driver then lost control of the vehicle and struck a concrete barrier on the roadway. The vehicle then reportedly travled another 120 feet before coming to final rest in a right-hand lane. The vehicle was disabled from the impact, but no injuries were reported. Officers were assisted on scene by Gray’s Towing, Central Juniata EMS and Junction Fire Dept.

¯Crash–PSP Lewistown responded to a two vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:02 a.m. on May 30 on U.S. Highway 522 in Decatur Township, Mifflin County.

According to the report, Marilyn Miller, 79, of Belleville was traveling in a 2016 Chrysler 200 when she attempted to pass a Sperry New Holland T4040 operated by Ryan Bixler, 32, of McClure, in a no passing zone. Miller reportedly did not realize that Bixler intended to turn left onto County Line Road and struck the side of the vehicle.

Miller sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Lewistown Hospital for treatment. Bixler sustained minor injuries, but wasn’t transported. Miller was cited for the crash and her vehicle was towed from the scene by Lion County.

¯Criminal mischief–PSP Lewistown investigated a report of criminal mischief that occurred at approximately 7:40 p.m. on June 1 in Mifflin, Juniata County.

According to the report, an unnamed actor was accused of shattering the screen of a 33-year-old woman’s cell phone.

¯Crash–PSP Lewistown responded to a tractor crash that occurred at approximately 3:32 p.m. on June 7 on Groninger Valley Road in Beale Township, Juniata County.

According to the report, Kelvin Ranck, 25, of Mifflin, was traveling north in a John Deere 6210R tractor when he traveled into the opposite lane of traffic and struck a 2000 Ford F150 operated by Leroy Fisher, 42, of Mifflin.

Fisher was injured in the crash and was transported to Holy Spirit Hospital for treatment of injuries. Ranck was later charged for the incident.

Pennsylvania State Police Newport

¯Crash–PSP Newport responded to a single vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 8:10 a.m. on June 9 on Veterans Way in Saville Township, Perry County.

According to the report, Ashley Peters, 32, of Lewistown, was traveling south in a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse when she became distracted and lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle then exited the roadway and struck a utility pole, causing the vehicle to rotate clockwise before striking a metal sign and continuing to spin. The car then struck a gravel pile and spun into the corner of a building where it came to final rest.

Peters was not reported wearing a seat belt and was transported to to Holy Spirit Hospital for treatment of injuries. Officers were assisted on the scene by New Bloomfield Fire and EMS and Fry’s Garage. Peters was later charged for careless driving following the crash.
