LPD investigating deaths of two residents

LEWISTOWN–Lewistown police are investigating the unrelated deaths of one man and one woman after the individuals were found deceased in their homes on May 25 and 26 in Lewistown.
According to reports from the Lewistown Police Department, officers were dispatched to a residence on East Third St. at approximately 10:39 p.m. on May 25 for a report of a deceased individual. Upon arrival at the scene, police found a 34-year-old male, of Tyrone, deceased in his room. Based on evidence found at the scene, police believe that the man’s death may have been the result of drug overdose.
Additionally, at approximately 8:34 p.m. on May 26, officers received a report that a woman may have overdosed in an apartment on Howard Ave. Upon arrival at the scene, a 32-year-old female, of Lewistown, was found to be deceased and evidence at the scene suggested that the death was drug-related.
Toxicology screenings and testing are being conducted for both deaths by the Mifflin County Coroner’s Office and investigation into both incidents is ongoing.
