Woman charged with cruelty to animals
WAYNE TOWNSHIP –One woman was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, causing SBI or death, on Sunday.
According to court documents, Lynn Allan Gladfelter, 50, of Hanover, shot and killed two domestic pigs belonging to Dwight Owen Rittenhouse. Gladfelter told police that the two pigs were on her property, .25 miles away from Rittenhouse’s residence, when she shot them with a firearm. She then transported them back to Rittenhouse’s residence on Blackberry Lane in Wayne Township.
Gladfelter was charged with two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals. She was unable to post the $25,000 bail and was held at the Mifflin County Correctional Facility. The preliminary arraignment was held on Sunday. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday at 9 a.m. with Magisterial District Judge Jack Miller.
