Man charged with 4 criminal counts

MIFFLIN–Charles Edward Duncan Jr., 37, of Mifflin, was charged Friday with four criminal counts, including endangering the welfare of children and possession with intent to distribute.

According to court documents, Duncan supplied an alleged juvenile victim with 250 mg of Tramadol in March 2018, reportedly to alleviate the alleged victim’s headache at the time. Duncan also reported to police that he and the alleged victim smoked marijuana after the alleged victim took the Tramadol. Duncan related to police that he contacted the alleged victim’s mother when the alleged victim “began to act weird” and the mother called 911.

The juvenile was taken to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital Emergency Room and treated for a possible overdose. The alleged victim corroborated Duncan’s account of the incident.

Duncan was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline Leister and committed to Mifflin County Correctional Facility, unable to post the $50,000 bail set. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 31.
