Local man’s bail revoked
MIFFLINTOWN– Bail was revoked on Tuesday for Gregory Shoop, 29, of Port Royal, and he was immediately incarcerated, according to District Attorney Cory Snook. Shoop faces four criminal charges, including counts of indecent assault with a person less than 13-years-old and indecent assault without consent of another.
“One of the non-monetary conditions of his bail,” said Snook, “was that he was to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18. We acquired evidence that he attended a 13th birthday party which was also attended by persons under the age of 18, thereby being in violation of his bail condition.”
According to court documents, in January, two alleged victims disclosed that Shoop had allegedly touched them each sexually, against their wills, when they were six and eight years old respectively. When interviewed by Pennsylvania State Police-Lewistown, Shoop allegedly confessed to touching the alleged victims as they had reported and that he was 18 years old during the alleged incident.
Shoop was committed to Mifflin County Correctional Facility. His case, according to Snook, was continued until June 5.
