Febres pleads not guilty to 7 counts

LEWISTOWN–Jose Febres, 32, of Dallas PA, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to seven criminal counts, including attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and terroristic threats.

In February, Febres was arrested for allegedly assaulting Michelle Bowers, of Lewistown, with a knife, allegedly stabbing her in the left and right side of her chest, her face, and her right hand. According to court documents, Febres allegedly attacked Bowers in her Spruce street residence and threatened to kill her. Reportedly, Febres was subdued and removed from Bowers’ residence by a neighbor, who entered the residence after allegedly hearing Bowers’ roommate screaming. Bowers was transported to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital then taken to UPMC Altoona where she was treated for her injuries.

Febres was committed to Mifflin County Correctional Facility on February 26 and denied bail. Judge Aaron Gingrich accepted Febres plea on Tuesday and advised Febres that he would be placed on the rolling jury selection schedule.
