For each service, fellowship will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the program beginning at 7 p.m.

St. Mark’s United Methodist

A Maundy Thursday Seder meal will be held at St. Mark’s United Methodist church at 7 p.m. March 29.

Fairview Bible Church will hold its Good Friday service at noon March 30.

Beth-El Mennonite Church

Easter services are scheduled to be held at Beth-El Mennonite Church. Pastor John C. Reeser, of Conestoga, will speak at services held at 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. March 30, 7:30 p.m. March 31 and at 9:15 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. April 1.

A Good Friday communion service will be held at Strodes Mills Baptist Church at 7 p.m. March 30.

Mt. Bethel Church of McClure will hold its Easter service at 10:15 a.m. The church is located at 16 E. Specht St., McClure.

Matamoras United Methodist

The Matamoras United Methodist church will hold its Easter sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. April 1.

First Baptist of Juniata County

First Baptist Church of Juniata County will hold Easter services on April 1. A sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m. A free breakfast is scheduled for 8 a.m. These events will be followed by an Easter cantata, “Crown him King,” at 9:30 a.m.

Highland Park Presbyterian

Highland Park Presbyterian Church will hold a sunrise service at 8 a.m. April 1. The service will be followed by breakfast. Worship with Holy Communion will follow at 9:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome.

Men’s Pray breakfasts set for Port Royal

PORT ROYAL — The Port Royal Men’s Pray Breakfast schedule for 2018 is:

¯March 17 — Zachary Bashore, of Christian Retreat Center;

¯March 24 — Rev. Terry Smith, of Free Spring Church of the Brethren;

¯March 31 — Rev. Steve Munger, of Big Valley Brethren in Christ Church.

The group meets at 7 a.m. in the Port Royal Community Room building on Fourth Street, Port Royal.

Presbyterian Church holds Lenten study

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Presbyterian Church will focus on themes of “Sacred Rhythms,” curriculum by Ruth Haley Barton, founder of The Transforming Center, as part of its Lenten study.

Small groups will run through Holy Week. The following small groups will be offered:

¯11:40 a.m. Sundays in the church parlor

¯6 p.m. Sundays at the manse

¯6 p.m. Tuesday at the Hills

¯6:30 a.m. Wednesdays at the manse

Lenten Bible study classes forming

McVEYTOWN — A six-week Lenten study began the week of Feb. 18 at the McVeytown United Methodist Church. Participants will meet once a week in small groups at local homes. No prior Bible knowledge is necessary. For dates and times of classes, call (717) 899-7793.

Weekly Bible study scheduled

LEWISTOWN — Sacred Heart of Jesus is holding an adult Bible study 7 to 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday until March 22 at the Parish office on North Brown Street. Participants will be studying the prophets. A $20 donation is welcome. Study guide materials are available at the parish’s office and can be picked up prior to the event.

Family movie, meal night planned

MIFFLINTOWN — The movie “Let there be light” will be shown at 5 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, family ministry center on Route 35, one mile north of Mifflintown. A meal will also be served and includes walking tacos, potato soup and cake. Dress casual and bring a lawn chair if desired. Everyone is welcome.

Hymn sing held at

Valley View church

BELLEVILLE — The public is invited to attend the 15th annual Heritage Hymn Sing at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The event is held at the Valley View Amish Mennonite Church, 110 Apple House Road, Belleville.

Songs will be sung acapella in four-part harmonies and will feature special music groups. A freewill offering will be received and will benefit the Mennonite Heritage Center in Belleville.

Prayer vigil slated for Wednesday

McVEYTOWN — McVeytown United Methodist Church will hold a prayer vigil that will focus on rebirth that is scheduled for 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Presentation held on Jesus’ crucifixion

Beech Run Church holds a night of music

MAPLETON — The Beech Run Church of the Brethren in Hares Valley at Mapleton Depot will hold a night of music at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Music will be provided by singer Paul Zook. The event will include hymns, southern gospel, worship and contemporary Christian music. The public is invited to attend and there is no charge.

Gospel concert planned

McALISTERVILLE — The Coffman family, from Kentucky, will be singing gospel music at 7 p.m. Friday at Stony Run Mission. A free will offering will be accepted.

Easter egg hunt planned for youth

LEWISTOWN –Pine Glenn Christian and Missionary Alliance Church is hosting an Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. March 24 for youth from 4 years to fifth grade.

Gospel singing group to perform

TROXELVILLE — Joe Bonson & Coffee Run, a gospel singing group, will perform at Grace Reformed Church at 7 p.m. on Palm Sunday, March 25.

YEAGERTOWN — The Yeagertown United Methodist Church will celebrate Jesus’ Last Supper with communion with a service at 7 p.m. March 29.

Good Friday day camp planned for youth

THOMPSONTOWN — Locust Run United Methodist Church will hold its annual Good Friday day camp 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 30.

The event is open to children ages 3 to 10 and will include stories, music, games and crafts. Lunch will also be served. For more information, call (717) 535-0070. Pre-registration is required for planning purposes.

Easter event planned for families

LEWISTOWN–Walk with Jesus, an Easter event for families is scheduled for 8:45 to 11:45 a.m. March 31 at Lewistown Presbyterian Church.

Kids and their families will walk travel through five stations designed to encourage thinking and get families talking about the final events of Jesus’ life on earth. Walk with Jesus will incorporate an Easter egg hunt.

‘Lord of Glory’ to be performed locally

REEDSVILLE — “Amish Grace” will be shown at 6:30 p.m. April 8 at Reedsville United Methodist Church. The movie explores the Amish community’s reaction of compassion to events that tested their faith. The film is a testament to the power of forgiveness. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome.
