Sticky Bun Cafe opens new location in Lewistown

LEWISTOWN — Fans of the Sticky Bun Cafe now have two locations, Yeagertown and the newest spot on West Fourth Street in Lewistown, to get their hands on “the best sticky buns in town.”

Owner Doug Detwiller is ready to serve “the other side of town” with his homemade meals and baked goods. Detwiller bakes all hours of the night to prepare fresh pastries, cakes, pies, apple dumplings, bread, sticky buns and whoopie pies for his customers on a daily basis. He and his staff also prepare homemade meals and soups. The new location’s menu features all the favorites from the Yeagertown location, but with a few meal additions like veal and chicken parmesan, hamburger steaks and chicken fingers.

Detwiller is no stranger to the food industry as he was trained by a chef while working in a hotel in Philadelphia for a decade before opening the Sticky Bun Cafe, 11 years ago.

Detwiller is very excited about his second location and said since opening on Jan. 17 of this year, the restaurant has had a very good response and business is picking up. He said many people in Lewistown were not familiar with his Yeagertown cafe and he often had to give directions to the cafe. Located conveniently across from Lowe’s, the new space offers twice as much seating as Yeagertown and allows space for large group meetings. He still offers catering and take-out services.

Located at 10475 U.S. Highway 522 South in Lewistown, the restaurant is open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday. For more information, call (717) 953-9374.
