Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown

¯ Harassment – On Jan. 20, PSP Lewistown responded to a harassment call on Wayne Street in Wayne Township, Mifflin County.

According to the report, a 76 year old unnamed suspect struck a 67 year old and 36 year old victim multiple times. No other information is known at this time.

¯ Crash – On Jan. 24, PSP Lewistown investigated a one vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 322 in Armagh Township, Mifflin County.

Helen Duong, 21, of Philadelphia was traveling east on U.S. 322 in a 2017 Toyota Prius when a small rock slide caused a boulder to roll onto the roadway. Duong was unable to avoid striking the boulder, but was reportedly wearing her seat belt and was uninjured in the crash.

¯ Access Device Fraud — On Nov. 14, 2017, PSP Lewistown investigated an access device fraud incident at a residence near Walnut Street in the borough of Lewistown.

According to the report, Ethel Haubrick, 83, notified state police that unauthorized charges were appearing on her credit card accounts. A suspect has been identified, but the investigation for the incident is ongoing.

¯ Aggravated Indecent Assault — PSP Lewistown investigated a case of aggravated indecent assault that occurred between Nov. 26 and Dec. 25, 2015, in Monroe Township, Juniata County.

Douglas Chubb, 50, of Richfield, is accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old male at a location on Lauver Valley Road. Chubb was arraigned in district court and placed in Mifflin County Correctional Facility with a $25,000 bail.

¯ Disorderly conduct — On Jan. 30, a man was charged in an incident of disorderly conduct in Fayette Township, Juniata County.

Todd Dressler, 47, of Richfield, reportedly spun the tires of his vehicle in parking lot of East Juniata High School, causing smoke and alarming nearby students. Charges for the incident were filed through District Court.

¯ Crash — On Feb. 1, PSP Lewistown investigated a two-vehicle crash on Route 22 in Armagh Township, Mifflin County.

According to the report, Nancy Crissman, 87, of Reedsville, was driving a 1997 Buick Century on the left side of the road. As Crissman was traveling in the wrong direction, Janet Fisher, 85, of Reedsville was driving toward U.S. 322 on a ramp in a 2012 Subaru Forester and was unable to avoid hitting Crissman’s vehicle due to a concrete divider separating the lanes of travel. After impact, Crissman’s vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway before coming to rest and Fisher’s vehicle spun and landed on the opposite side of the roadway. Crissman sustained injuries of unknown severity and was cited for the crash. Fisher was uninjured.

Lewistown Police Department

¯ Crash/DUI — On Jan. 17 at approximately 5:29 p.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on South Main Street in Lewistown.

Amber Freed was charged with DUI following the crash after blood tests revealed that she was under the influence of alcohol and several controlled substances at the time of the accident.

¯ Domestic Violence — On Jan. 31, Lewistown police responded to an incident of domestic violence on South Pine Road in Lewistown.

At approximately 11:34 a.m., Shelly Spriggle, 34, of Lewistown, threw a broom and coffee table at her father, Charles Heiston, and struck him the face with an open hand. Spriggle was subsequently placed under arrest for simple assault and harrassment.

¯ Harrassment — Lewistown police investigated a harrassment incident on Jan. 31 on South Pine Road in Lewistown.

Candie Thomas, 26, of Lewistown admitted to slapping a juvenile multiple times with an open hand. The juvenile sustained minor injuries and Thomas was cited for harrassment following the incident.

¯ Disorderly Conduct — At approximately 8:50 p.m. on Jan. 31, officers responded to a complaint regarding disorderly conduct on Valley Street in Lewistown.

Steven Young, 45, of Lewistown reported that Tate Young, 26, of Lewistown, was intoxicated and behaving in a disorderly fashion. Tate Young was subsequently placed under arrest for a probation violation and held on detainer at Mifflin County Correctional Facility.

¯ Hit and Run — On Feb. 1, police responded to a report of a hit-and-run accident on the 1000 block of West Fourth Street.

Karen Spearing, 47, of Reedsville reported that she was traveling east and attempting to make a right-hand turn when a silver vehicle struck her Ford Focus, breaking the left rear tail light. The suspect then left the scene, heading toward Lewistown. No further information was available on the vehicle or the driver at fault.

Pennsylvania State Police Selinsgrove

¯ Corruption of Minors – During the fall of 2016, PSP Selinsgrove were notified that a 13 year old male was permitted to smoke marijuana with his sister in Center Township, Snyder County. The case is currently under investigation.

Mount Union Police Department

¯ Domestic Arrest – On Jan. 29, Mount Union Police responded to an active domestic case at 9:44 p.m. on Maxwell Street in the borough of Mount Union. Harassment charges were filed as a result of the incident.

¯ Criminal Mischief — PSP Lewistown investigated a criminal mischief incident on Old Stage Road in Decatur Township, Mifflin County.

According to the report, an unknown person caused damage to the garage door of the victim’s home in McClure between 7 and 9 p.m. on Jan. 11. The individual then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

¯ DUI — PSP Lewistown investigated a DUI incident on Jan. 20 on the 100 block of Electric Avenue in Derry Township, Mifflin County.

At approximately 9:04 p.m., Kavita Edmiston, 43, of Lewistown, was observed driving across the white line on Electric Avenue several times. After investigation, state police determined that Edmiston was driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Charges for the incident were filed through District Court.

¯ Crash — On Jan. 26, PSP Lewistown investigated a one vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 522 in Decatur Township, Mifflin County.

Shane Dobson, 41, of McClure, was traveling south on U.S. 522 North in a 2003 Saturn Ion when the vehicle crossed into the opposing lane of traffic and struck an embankment. The vehicle then spun counter clockwise, striking the embankment a second time. The vehicle continued to spin on the roadway before crossing both lanes of traffic and coming to final rest in a field. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Dobson fled the scene before PSP arrived, but later came to PSP Lewistown on Jan. 27 and admitted to driving at the time of the crash. Dobson was subsequently cited through District Court.

¯ Weapons on School Property — On Jan. 29, state police responded to a call regarding a weapon found on school property in Port Royal Borough, Juniata County.

According to the report, an 8 year old student of Tuscarora Valley Elementary School was found in possession of a pocket knife. No charges were filed due to the student’s age.

¯ Crash — On Jan. 30, PSP Lewistown investigated a two vehicle crash on Ferguson Valley Road in Wayne Township, Mifflin County.

A 17 year old driver was reported traveling south on Ferguson Valley Road in a 2005 Acura RSX when she failed to maintain control of the vehicle. The vehicle then crossed over the double yellow line into the opposing lane of travel, striking a 2016 Ford F150 operated by Bryan Cramer, 56, of McVeytown. Minor injuries were reported and the 17 year old was cited for the crash.

¯ Crash — State police were called to the scene of a one vehicle crash on Jan. 30 on New Lancaster Valley Road in Armagh Township, Mifflin County.

Valerie Condron, 55, of Milroy, and a 17 year old passenger were traveling in a 2000 Subaru Outback when Condron lost control of the vehicle due to slippery road conditions. The vehicle slid across the roadway and crashed into a ditch on the side of the road. Both Condron and her passenger were reported wearing their seat belts and were uninjured as a result of the crash.

Mount Union Police Department

¯ Theft — On Jan. 31, Mount Union Police investigated a reported theft from East Water Street in Mount Union after a keg of beer was reported stolen from a locked cooler at J.S. Giacobello’s Beer Distributor.

Pennsylvania State Police Huntingdon

¯ Crash — PSP Huntingdon investigated a two vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Croghan Pike in Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County.

According to the report, Andrew Tress, 21, of Mount Union, was traveling north in a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix behind a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Gregory Mills, 44, of Three Springs. As Mills stopped in the northbound lane to make a left turn, Tress struck the rear of Mills’ vehicle. Tress reportedly sustained minor injury as a result of the crash and was cited for careless driving.

Pa. State Police Liquor Enforcement Officers

¯ Administrative Citations Issued — Hungry Run Wine & Spirits LLC in Lewistown was cited in Jan. 2018 by the PA State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for selling alcoholic beverages without an exposition permit on Nov. 19, 2017. Charges will be brought before an Administrative Law Judge.
