Mifflin County Commissioner Stephen Dunkle on Thursday introduced Millie, a 5-year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel he recently adopted at Pets Come First, the former SPCA headquarters along U.S. 322 midway between Lewistown and State College. Dunkle said the shelter is extremely overcrowded and urged area residents to consider adopting one of the many dogs that have been rescued, especially those, like Millie, that came from an Amish puppy mill in Lancaster County.
