Saturday, Dec. 16

¯All-you-can-eat breakfast buffet — 6 a.m., Rescue Hose Company No. 20, 222 S. Sassafras St., Beavertown. Santa will arrive at 8 a.m. Proceeds benefit the fire company.

¯Clothing and shoe donations — 9 a.m.-noon, Evangel Baptist Church, 375 W. Fifth St., Lewistown. A volunteer will be there to assist.

¯Clothing closet — 9 a.m.-noon, Evangel Baptist Church, 375 W. Fifth St., Lewistown. Free soup and sandwiches available.

¯Shoe bank — 9 a.m.-noon, Grace United Methodist Church, Lewistown.

¯Brick Saturday — 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Mifflin County Library, Lewistown, and Kish Branch Library, Belleville. Kids of all ages can come and play with Legos provided by the library.

¯Waffles with Santa — 10 a.m., Lack Tuscarora EMS, East Waterford. Santa will be there until noon.

¯Food sale — 10 a.m., Spring Township Car Wash building, along U.S. 522. Benefits Beaver Springs Fire Co. Barbecue chicken quarters, $3; kettled soup, $4 per quart; and a bake sale sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary. Soups will be chicken corn noodle, beef vegetable and ham bean.

¯Community Christmas dinner — 5 p.m., Milroy CMA Church, 46 Elm. St. Milroy. Free traditional Christmas dinner food, desserts, live band performing Christmas favorites.

¯Benjamin’s Spectacle of Dancing Lights — 7-9:30 p.m., 155 Roy I. Road, Belleville. Donations collected to purchase toys, DVDs and pay for other activities at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Sunday, Dec. 17

¯Habitat for Humanity Open House — 1-5 p.m., Lindy Lane Lewistown, behind Stimely Electric. Dedication to be held at 4 p.m.

¯Juniata High School Cantata — 2 p.m., Juniata High School auditorium. The JHS chorus alongside area community singers will present the cantata, “Joy to the World.” Free event will feature more than 100 singers, narration and a live tableau.

¯Community Christmas party — 6 p.m., Highland Park Presbyterian Church, 604 Electric Ave., Lewistown. Games, songs, fellowship and refreshments. Santa Claus will have a gift for every child.

¯Hymns and Carols — 7 p.m., Milroy United Methodist Church. Light refreshments to follow.

¯Benjamin’s Spectacle of Dancing Lights — 7-9:30 p.m., 155 Roy I. Road, Belleville. Donations collected to purchase toys, DVDs and pay for other activities at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Monday, Dec. 18

¯Coffee with friends — 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Lack Tuscarora EMS, East Waterford. For seniors; no cost. There will be crafts, exercise, speakers and Bible study, with light lunch provided.

¯Kish Class of 1968 monthly luncheon — 11 a.m., Burnham OIP. No reservation required.

¯TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) — weigh-ins are from 6-6:45 p.m., meeting from 7-7:30 p.m., Yeagertown United Methodist Church, 7 N. Mann Ave., Yeagertown.

¯Juniata County Head Start open house — 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at the new main office of Juniata County Head Start, Early Head Start and Pre-K Counts, 538 E. Industrial Drive, Mifflintown.

¯Kish High School Class of 1958 luncheon — 11:30 a.m., Burnham OIP.

¯Bereavement support group — noon, Ohesson Manor. All are welcome. A light lunch will be provided. RSVP for event at (717) 242-5000.

¯Juniata Valley Quilters Guild meeting — 6:30 p.m., Rhodes Memorial Church, Lewistown. This is the group’s Christmas program. Bring a covered dish and your own place setting. Bring your own needle and DMC floss.
