¯Senior gathering — 9:30 a.m.-noon, Faith United Methodist Church, East Waterford.

¯Christmas tea — 10 a.m., in the social room of Port Royal Lutheran Church. Event will feature a sing-along with The Boyz. Community members are also welcome to attend this annual event.

¯Contra Dance — 7:30-10:30 p.m., State College Friends School, 1900 University Drive, State College. Dance sponsored by the Central Pennsylvania Country Dance Association. Live music. ¯Fill-A-Cruiser — 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Giant Store, 200 Dorcas St., Lewistown. Lewistown Police Officers and local Kiwanis members will collect non-perishable food items. Donations will be given to Lumina Center and to Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard.

¯Coffee with friends — 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Lack Tuscarora EMS, East Waterford. For seniors; no cost. There will be crafts, exercise, speakers and Bible study. Light lunch provided.

¯Bluegrass Country Express with jam session — 5 p.m. kitchen opens, 6-9 p.m. band performs, 6:30 p.m. jam session, Four Seasons Senior Center, CJEMS Lane, state Route 35, Mifflintown. Food sales benefit the senior center. Admission is $2. Information: (717) 436-6847

¯Waffles with Santa — 10 a.m., Lack Tuscarora EMS, East Waterford. Santa will be there until noon.

¯Food sale — 10 a.m., Spring Township Car Wash building, along Route 522. Benefits Beaver Springs Fire Co. Barbecue chicken quarters, $3; kettled soup, $4 per quart; and a bake sale sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary. Soups will be chicken corn noodle, beef vegetable and ham bean.

Sunday, Dec. 17

¯Juniata High School Cantata — 2 p.m., Juniata High School auditorium. The JHS chorus alongside area community singers will present the cantata, ‘Joy to the World.’ Free event will feature more than 100 singers, narration and a live tableau.

¯Community Christmas party — 6 p.m., Highland Park Presbyterian Church, 604 Electric Ave., Lewistown. Games, songs, fellowship and refreshments. Santa Claus will have a gift for every child.

¯ Habitat for Humanity Open House – 1-5 p.m., Lindy Lane Lewistown, behind Stimely Electric. Dedication to be held at 4 p.m.
