¯Annual Christmas bazaar — 8 a.m.-2 p.m., Dec. 9, Locust Grove. Donation items are being accepted and vendor spaces are available. To be a vendor or to donate an item call (717) 436-8921.

¯Christmas cash bingo –1 p.m., Dec. 10, McClure American Legion Post 942. Advance tickets available for $20 by Dec. 9. At the door, tickets are $25. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Includes concession stand, raffle table, 50/50 and door prizes. Proceeds will benefit the McClure Bean Soup Festival and Fair. ¯Community Christmas dinner — 5 p.m., Dec. 16, Milroy CMA Church, 46 Elm. St. Milroy. Free traditional Christmas dinner food, live band performing Christmas favorites and desserts. RSVP’s welcome but not necessary. To register, call (570) 657-7549 by Dec. 12.

Thursday, Dec. 7

¯Machine Shop 1 retirees breakfast — 8 a.m., Dutch Country Restaurant, Milroy.

¯Big Valley Thrift and Gift Shop Bag Days –9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. $6 per supplied bag. All sales are final. Proceeds benefit Mennonite Central Committee.

¯Clothing and shoe donations — noon-3 p.m., Evangel Baptist Church, 375 W. Fifth St., Lewistown. A volunteer will be there to assist.

¯Grocery bingo — 1 p.m., Yeagertown Senior Center. Bring a grocery item and $1.25 for bingo card. Benefits the senior center.

¯Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day tribute — 12:45 p.m., Pennsylvania Military Museum, 51 Boal Avenue, Boalsburg.

¯Aerobics — 6-7 p.m., Hope Center, Bethel AME Church, Lewistown. Cost is $2 if not a member of the church.

¯KeyStone Gamers — 6-9:30 p.m., Moose Family Center, 80 Brady Lane, Lewistown. Do not have to be a Moose member to join. More information: gamer191dean@aol.com.

¯Overcomers outreach — 6:30 p.m., Trinity United Methodist Church, 428 S. Main St., Lewistown. A group for people struggling with addiction and those affected by the addiction of a loved one.

Friday, Dec. 8

¯Free community breakfast — 7-8:30 a.m., New Life Church, 101 N. Beech St., Burnham.

¯Christmas tree sales — 9 a.m., Kish Park. Cost of trees is based on height. Benefits the Derry Township Fire Police.

¯Coffee with friends — 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Lack Tuscarora EMS, East Waterford. For seniors; no cost. There will be crafts, exercise, speakers and Bible study. Light lunch provided.

¯Free lunch for all — 11 a.m.-1 p.m., First Baptist Church, Route 35 North, Mifflintown. Meal in building behind the church. Everyone welcome. No take outs.

¯Fly-in, drive-in, walk-in breakfast — 8 -10:30 a.m., Mifflin County Airport. Sponsored by Experimental Aircraft Association, Chapter 518.

¯ St. Jude Cookie Walk –in the social hall at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, Mifflintown, sponsored by the St. Jude Women’s Guild. Doors open at 8 a.m., cookies available 9 a.m. to noon, or while supply lasts. Purchase an empty container for $10 and fill it with your choice of cookies. ¯Brick Saturday — 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Mifflin County Library, Lewistown, and Kish Branch Library, Belleville. Kids of all ages can come and play with Legos provided by the library.

¯Cookies and cocoa with Mrs. Claus –10 a.m., Lewistown branch of Mifflin County Library. Mrs. Claus will read “The Polar Express” to children and have her picture taken with them. There will be cookie decorating and crafts. Caregivers wishing to attend the event can make a donation. Tickets are $5 and available at the Lewistown and Kish libraries. ¯Lewistown High School Class of 1957 annual Christmas party — 5 p.m., St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Main Street, Lewistown. Bring a covered dish to share with those attending.

¯Benefit for Talynn Snook — 6-9 p.m., CVR Lounge, Yeagertown. Snook was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Proceeds to benefit Snook’s family for travel expenses. Event includes 50/50s, large raffle auction, shirt and bracelet sales. Music provided by JD’s Maniac Entertainment.

¯Millerstown Christmas Tree Lighting — 7 p.m., Millerstown Square, hosted by the Millerstown Lions Club. This year’s tree will be multi-colored. The ceremony will be outside, and caroling will be held prior to flipping the switch.
