Agency hits 32 percent of goal

Fundraising supports local households

LEWISTOWN — The United Way of Mifflin-Juniata has raised $152,600 or 32 percent of its $475,000 goal for the 2018 campaign. According to UWMJ, the organization is slightly ahead of last year at this time.

The United Way works hard to fund programs and initiatives that can change the course of someone’s life for the better. The organization supports low- and moderate-income households through various programs, all of which supply aid to our community in the areas of education, income and health.

These programs provide an assortment of critical services to area residents. These efforts touch the lives of thousands of men, women and children in every part of our community. United Way partner agencies include: American Red Cross, The Abuse Network, Juniata Valley Big Brothers Big Sisters, Crossroads Pregnancy Center, Delauter Youth Center, Juniata County Library, Juniata Valley Council of the Boy Scouts, LUMINA Center, MidPenn Legal Services, Mifflin County Library, Mifflin-Juniata Special Needs Center, NuVisions Center and Success by 6.

To invest in the future of the Mifflin-Juniata region, donations to the 2018 campaign can be made to the United Way of Mifflin-Juniata, 13 East Third St., Lewistown, PA, 17044. Phone: (717) 248-9636, or visit us online at www.mjunitedway.org.
