¯ Theft of package — Aug. 29 — An officer went to South Spruce Street after the department received a complaint that on Aug. 5 a package was stolen for the residents porch.

¯ Domestic assault– 5-8 p.m. — Sept. 3 — An officer responded to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital in reference to a domestic assault which occurred at 314 S. Brown St.

An investigation revealed that the victim, a 51-year-old female from Lewistown, was assaulted by her boyfriend, Brian Keith Baumgardner, 54, of Lewistown. The woman sustained serious injuries to her face, neck and abdomen and sought treatment at the hospital.

Baumgardner was not located at home and a warrant for arrest was obtained on charges of aggravated assault, strangulation, simple assault and harassment.

¯ Public drunkenness — 6:04 p.m. — Sept. 3 — Officers responded to the area of 100 S. Main St. for reports of an intoxicated female, who had fallen multiple times.

Through an investigation it was discovered that Cheryl A. Reed, was cited for public drunkenness through Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Reed’s office.

¯ Non-reportable traffic accident — 3:29 p.m. — Sept. 5 — A 17-year-old female was driving a blue Jeep Cherokee and was attempting to make a left hand turn from Depot Street onto Montgomery Avenue when she lost control of her vehicle and hit two parked cars.

Damage to all vehicles was minimal and all

were drivable.

¯ Disorderly conduct — 6:07 p.m. — Sept. 5 — Bryce Yetter, of Lewistown, and his girlfriend were involved in an argument while at the AT&T Store on Fourth Street, which alarmed an employee.

Yetter was punching and hitting her car with a glass rod and was cited for disorderly conduct. Nothing physical took place between the two parties and both were released after the investigation was concluded.

¯ Criminal mischief to automobiles — 6 p.m. — Sept. 6 — An officer was sent to 84 W. Charles St. for a report of a vehicle that was keyed, the vehicle being a blue Dodge Avenger belonging to George Bell.

Through an investigation it was discovered that Thomas Berrier was responsible for the $584 in damages and will be charged with misdemeanour criminal mischief to an automobile.

¯ Non-reportable traffic crash — 3:36 p.m. — Sept. 8 — Police responded to a two vehicle crash at W. Market and S. Wayne St.

An investigation into the crash revealed a 2016 Ford F-350 driven by Ryan Read, of Clarence, was traveling east on Market St. and had a red light. The second vehicle a 2003 Volkswagen driven by Stacey Gates, of Lewistown, was traveling north on S. Wayne St. and began to cross through the intersection. Read then hit Gates on the front drivers side of the vehicle causing damage.

Read was issued a citation for failing to stop for steady red light.

¯ Public drunkenness — 5 p.m. — Sept. 8 — Michelle Frankenfield, 42, of Lewistown, was found in Rec Park after having to be forcibly remove from the Keg by bar staff.

She was under the influence of alcohol and was yelling obscenities that could be heard from several yards away. She was arrested and taken to the Mifflin County Correctional Facility.

¯ Trespassing — 8:16 p.m. — Sept. 8 — James E. Hallums, 28, of Lewistown, entered the home of Cher D. McCartney, 45, of Lewistown, at 207 Valley St., after being explicitly told not to do so by McCartney.

Hallums was cited for defiant trespass and released.

¯ Traffic crash — 12:30 p.m. — Sept. 9 — Eric Wynn was operating a tractor trailer the wrong way on South Spruce St and hit a street sign on the corner of Spruce and Valley streets knocking it down and giving the vehicle a flat tire.

¯ Possession of drug paraphernalia — 12:40 p.m. — Sept. 10 — Officers were dispatched to 223 W. Fifth St. for a possible domestic.

On scene officers located Alicia Snyder, 44, of Lewistown, and Cory Harpster, 40, of Lewistown. During the investigation multiple items of drug paraphernalia belonging to both subjects and both will be receiving charges for the items.

¯ Harassment — May 11-Aug. 31 — Unknown actors called a 62-year-old woman from Turbett Township multiple times.

¯ Theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received — June 25-Aug. 13 — Jennifer Earnest, 37, of Granville, started a GOFUNDME account for Jason Wolfgang, 38, of Granville, to raise money to assist with costs of Wolfgang’s current family situation.

Once Earnest received was done raising money for Wolfgang’s cause, she closed the GOFUNDME account. Once the account was closed, Earnest failed to give Wolfgang the money raised from people and used the money for personal use. Charges were filed.

¯ Reckless endangering/Fleeing/DUI — 6:52 p.m. — Aug. 12 — Bradley Walters, 31, of Belleville, was clocked on radar traveling 106 mph in a 55 mph zone along U.S. Highway 522 north and Back Maitland Road, Decatur Township.

Walters fled from police at a high rate of speed on Back Maitland Road where he was stopped by a Lewistown Police Department Patrol unit. Subsequent investigation indicated that Walters was driving under the influence of alcohol. Charges were filed.

¯ Act 64 — 5:25 p.m. — Aug. 13 — A 32-year-old man from Mifflin was stopped for a traffic violation along U.S. Highway 322 in Derry Township.

Subsequent investigation indicated that he was in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

¯ Forgery — Aug. 19, 5 p.m.-Aug. 25, 11 a.m. — A 31-year-old male sent a fraudulent check to a 61-year-old woman from Spruce Hill Township.

¯ Crash, other — 2:27 p.m. — Aug. 20 — This crash occurred on state Route 235 just south of Harold Lane in Fayette Township, when Caleb King, 20, of Mifflintown, drove off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole.

The front bumper of the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado made the first impact and the vehicle sustained heavy damage. King was sustained minor injuries as a result.

¯ Crash, other — 2:35 p.m. — Aug. 20 — This crash occurred on state Route 235 just north of Harold Lane in Fayette Township, when Robert Jones, 52, of McClure, drove off the right side of the road and hit a utility.

Jones’ 1988 Ford F150 sustained disabling damage to the front bumper area of the vehicle. He suffered a minor injury and his passenger, Lori Jones, 43, of McClure, also suffered minor injuries to her head, arms and hands as a result of the crash.

¯ Drug possession — 7:30 p.m. — Aug. 21 — Jeffry Nathan Hockenberry, 34, of Richfield, was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Charges were filed through Magisterial District Judge Barbara M. Lyter’s office.

¯ Criminal mischief — Sept. 2, 10 p.m.-Sept. 3, 10:30 a.m. — Unknown suspects damaged a mailbox on the property of Gloria Shilling, of Lewistown, at 3708 Back Maitland Road, Decatur Township.

¯ Harassment — 1:19 a.m. — Sept. 4 — Ashley Nicole Murphy, 27, of Juniata Terrace Borough, and Justin James Ohler, 27, of Juniata Terrace Borough, were in a fight on Terrace Boulevard, Juniata Terrace Borough.

Ohler stated that Murphy punched him in the face and bruises were observed. Charges for harassment were filed through Magisterial District Judge Jack Miller’s office.
